Palestinians in Jordan refers mainly to those with Palestinian refugee status currently residing there. Sometimes the definition includes Jordanian citizens with full Palestinian origin. Most Palestinian ancestors came to Jordan as Palestinian refugees between 1947 and 1967. Today, most Palestinians and their descendants in Jordan are naturalized, making Jordan the only Arab country to fully integrate the Palestinian refugees of 1948, as the West Bank was annexed and held by Jordan between 1948 and 1967. Population In Jordan, there is no official census data for how many inhabitants are Palestinians and it rather depends on the definition of who is a Palestinian. Some 2.18 million Palestinians were registered as refugees in 2016. Hussein bin Talal (14 November 1935 – 7 February 1999) was King of Jordan from 1952 until Death and state funeral of King Hussein, his death in 1999. Emad Hajjaj () is a Palestinian-Jordanian editorial cartoonist. He is best known for his work in '' Al Ra'i'' and the ''Jordan Times'' daily newspapers. Early life Emad was born in Jordan's West Bank in 1967. He received his art education at Yarmouk University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1991 after majoring in graphic design and with a minor in journalism. Career Emad is the brother of Osama Hajjaj who is also a cartoonist and political caricaturist. The brothers are actually aware of the challenges involved in publishing political cartoons in strife-torn Middle East. Both have been victims of intimidation and have received death threats on account of their satirical work, especially for cartoons directed at ISIS. Ahmad Toukan
Ahmad Toukan (; 15 August 1903 – 5 January 1981) was a Jordanian political leader of Palestinian descent. He was briefly the 20th Prime Minister of Jordan from 26 September 1970 to 28 October 1970, during a crackdown that drove the PLO guerillas out of Jordan.. Palestinian refugee camps were first established to accommodate Palestinians who were displaced by the 1948 Palestinian expulsion and flight during the 1948 Palestine war. Alia Bahauddin Toukan (; 25 December 1948 – 9 February 1977), also known as Alia Al Hussein (), was Queen of Jordan as the third wife of King Hussein from their marriage on 24 December 1972 until her death in a helicopter crash in 1977. Ibrahim Nasrallah
Ibrahim Nasrallah (; 2 December 1954), the winner of the Arabic Booker Prize (2018), was born in 1954 to Palestinian parents who were evicted from their land in Al-Burayj, Palestine in 1948. He spent his childhood and youth in a refugee camp in Jordan, and began his career as a teacher in Saudi Arabia. Amer Shafi Mahmoud Sabbah (; born 14 February 1982) is a Jordanian former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Shafi began his career as a midfielder and later on became a goalkeeper.
