Paige Pierce
Paige Pierce is a professional disc golfer from Plano, Texas. She has won 5 World Championships and 17 total Major Championships (the most of any female player), and has been consistently ranked among the top professional women since 2011. In 2018 she broke the record for the highest PDGA player rating a woman had ever achieved at 978. Since then she has broken her own record several times, most recently at 996 rated in March 2021. Pierce began playing disc golf at the age of 4 with her father and his friends. She went professional in 2009 and started touring in 2010. In addition to holding a number of PDGA National Tour wins, she is the all-time leading women's winner on the Disc Golf Pro Tour, founded 2016 by Steve Dodge and Nate Heinhold, with 30 DGPT wins as of August 2021. Beaver State Fling
The Beaver State Fling (BSF) is an annual disc golf tournament held at Riverbend Disc Golf Course at Milo McIver State Park in Estacada, Oregon. History Originally created as part of the now defunct Oregon Series by Teresa Trueba Embree and Cris Bellinger, the Beaver State Fling was built up from its original C-Tier to a PDGA National Tour stop in 4 years. By 2005, it was the 5th largest tournament in the world by attendance. In 2010, spots filled up in 30 minutes and for the 2011 tournament new skill-level restrictions limited the number of professionals, while a lottery system was introduced for amateurs. In 2020, the BSF was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 BSF was cancelled as well, due to a combination of winter storm damage and uncertainty around the state of the pandemic. The United States Women's Disc Golf Championships is a disc golf tournament that has been held annually since 1999. It is one of the major championships in Women's disc golf along with the PDGA World Championships, the PDGA Champions Cup and the European Open. The event crowns champions in several divisions. History For the first three years, the tournament was played alongside the USDGC at Winthrop University. The tournament was known as the "Women's National Championship" for the first two years of its existence before switching to "United States Women's Disc Golf Championships" for the 2001 tournament. Natalie Ryan
Natalie Ryan (born 1993 or 1994) is an American professional disc golfer. She went professional with disc golf in 2019. She saw two Elite Series victories in the sport in 2022. Ryan, a transgender woman, was disqualified from the professional women's division by restrictive gender eligibility guidelines adopted by the main governing body of disc golf in January 2023. Maple Hill Open is an annual disc golf tournament held at the Maple Hill Disc Golf Course in Leicester, Massachusetts. For six years, the event (formerly known as The Vibram Open), had the largest MPO and FPO payout of any stop on the PDGA National Tour. Catrina Allen is an American professional disc golfer. She is a US Champion and 2 time World Champion, and has been ranked among the top four women in the world between 2012 and 2019. In 2009, Allen was working as a bartender, and became interested in the sport after caddying for a friend at a tournament. She began playing and won the South Dakota Amateur Championships later that year, and won the US Women's Disc Golf Championship as an Amateur in 2010. Allen entered the professional tour in 2011, winning 15 events and the PDGA Female Rookie of the Year Award.
