Rani Padmini
Padmini, also known as Padmavati or Rani Padmavati, was a 13th–14th century queen of the Kingdom of Mewar in India. Several medieval texts mention her, although these versions are disparate and many modern historians question the extent of their overall authenticity. The Malik Muhammad Jayasi, Jayasi text describes her story as follows: Padmavati was an exceptionally beautiful princess of the Sinhala Kingdom, Sinhalese kingdom (in Sri Lanka). Ratnasimha, Ratan Sen, the Rajput ruler of Chittor Fort, heard about her beauty from a talking parrot named Hiraman. After an adventurous quest, he won her hand in marriage and brought her to Chittor. Ratan Sen was captured and imprisoned by Alauddin Khalji, the Sultanate of Delhi, Sultan of Delhi. While Rattan, Ratan Sen was in prison, the king of Kumbhalgarh, Kumbhalner Devapal became enamoured with Padmavati's beauty and proposed to marry her. Padmini Swaminathan is an Indian feminist economist. She is the current chairperson of the Centre for Livelihoods at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad. She has also served as the director of the Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS) and held the chair for Regional Studies of the Reserve Bank of India at MIDS until her retirement in 2011. ''Padmini'' is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language comedy drama film directed by Senna Hegde and written by Deepu Pradeep. It stars Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Madonna Sebastian, and Vincy Aloshious in the lead roles. The film follows Rameshan's life, which turns into a crisis following an unexpected incident on the wedding night. The film was officially announced in November 2021. Principal photography began in January 2023 in Palakkad and was wrapped up in February 2023. The music was composed by Jakes Bejoy. Rani Padmini (1962 – 15 October 1986) was an Indian actress during the 1980s in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and a few Hindi films. She entered the film field with ''Sangharsham'' and played notable roles in '' Parankimala'', ''Sharam'', ''Bandham'' and '' Kilikonchal''. She was murdered on 15 October 1986 at her home, along with her mother, by three of her employees. Personal life She was born to Chaudri and Indirakumari at Anna Nagar, Madras.
