POP TV
Pop TV is a Slovenian generalist television channel operated by Pro Plus d.o.o., a subsidiary of Central European Media Enterprises (CME), which is in turn owned by Czech investment company PPF. History It was established by ProPlus, CME's Slovenian subsidiary, in 1995. The channel was the first media outlet to be financed with foreign money, by means of a US loan. The output consisted largely of imported programs while the news was limited to the main evening bulletin. As of 2001, 79% of its programming was foreign. Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. (CME) is a media and entertainment company that operates television channels in seven geographic areas: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Romania and Moldova, Slovakia, and Slovenia. It operates the commercial broadcasting programs POP TV, Kanal A, Brio, Oto, Astra, and Kino, as well as the most visited news website in the country, 24ur.com. Borut Pahor (; born 2 November 1963) is a Slovenian politician who served as President of Slovenia from 2012 to 2022. He previously served as Prime Minister of Slovenia from 2008 to 2012. Nova TV is a Croatian free-to-air television network launched on 28 May 2000. It was the first commercial television network with national concession in the country. From 2004 until 2018 it was fully owned by the Central European Media Enterprises. In 2018, Direct Media purchased Nova TV and Doma TV. Nova TV is, along with HRT and RTL, one of the three Croatian television channels that air the largest amount of original programming in Croatia. Miss World is the oldest existing international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951.
