PDP–Laban
The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP, ) is a populist political party in the Philippines founded in 1982. It was previously known as Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP–Laban) from 1983 to 2024 as a result of a merger with Lakas ng Bayan (Laban). It was part of the country's ruling party coalition from 1986 to 1992 under the administration of Corazon Aquino and the country's ruling party from 2016 to 2022 under the administration of Rodrigo Duterte. Nominally democratic socialist and social democratic, the party has shifted considerably since its first time in power in the 1980s and 1990s. Since Duterte's election as president, the PDP is generally seen to have strayed from its initial social democratic objectives and shifted towards populism and Dutertismo. Kilusang Pagbabago () was the informal name of a multi-party umbrella coalition formed by the supporters of the administration of Rodrigo Duterte and the 17th Congress of the Philippines. United Nationalist Democratic Organization
The United Nationalist Democratic Organization (UNIDO) was the main political multi-party electoral alliance of the traditional political opposition during the turbulent last years of Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos in the mid-1980s. It was formed in January 1980, and was originally known as the United Democratic Opposition from 1980 to 1982. It was initially a union of eight major and minor political parties and organizations with the main aim to oust President Marcos through a legal political process. PDP–Lakas Coalition
The PDP–Lakas Coalition also known as PDP–LnB was a defunct multi-party electoral alliance supported by President Corazon Aquino and her administration for the 1988 Philippine local elections. It was a coalition of then two major parties in the Philippines, the PDP–Laban of President Aquino, and the Lakas ng Bansa (LnB) of House Speaker Ramon Mitra Jr. The coalition featured local candidates from both PDP–Laban and the Lakas ng Bansa parties in various provinces, cities and towns for the January 18, 1988 local election. Nene Pimentel
Aquilino Quilinging Pimentel Jr. (, December 11, 1933 – October 20, 2019), commonly known as Nene Pimentel, was a Filipino politician and human rights lawyer who was one of the leading political opposition leaders during the regime of Ferdinand Marcos from the declaration of martial law in 1972 until the People Power Revolution in 1986, which removed Marcos from power. He co-founded the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP–Laban) and served as the President of the Senate of the Philippines from 2000 to 2001. The Koalisyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (English: Coalition of United Filipinos), also known as the United Opposition, was the electoral alliance of the dominant opposition in the Philippines during the 2004 Philippine general election. The KNP was composed of Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan and Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino. Rodrigo Roa Duterte (, ; born March 28, 1945) is a Filipino lawyer and politician who served as the 16th president of the Philippines from 2016 to 2022. He is the first Philippine president from Mindanao, and is the oldest person to assume office, beginning his term at age 71. UniTeam was an electoral alliance in the Philippines formed to support the candidacies of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte in the 2022 presidential and vice-presidential elections and their allies in the 2022 Philippine general election. The alliance was formalized on November 29, 2021, with Senator Imee Marcos coining the name UniTeam. UniTeam as an electoral alliance was dissolved shortly after the landslide wins of both candidates in the 2022 national elections. People Power Coalition (PPC), formerly called "''EDSA Forces''", was a Philippine administration-based political multi-party electoral alliance in the May 14, 2001 midterm legislative elections. Genuine Opposition
The Genuine Opposition (GO) was an electoral alliance in the Philippines that contested the 2007 Philippine general election. The alliance's members were in opposition to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. It was originally called the United Opposition (UNO), founded by Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay in June 2005 to unite all politicians who wanted to impeach President Arroyo. UNO then reorganized itself and changed its name to Grand and Broad Coalition (GBC), with the UNO party under that coalition. Lakas ng Bayan ( or People Power), abbreviated as Laban, was an electoral alliance, later a political party, in the Philippines formed by Senator Ninoy Aquino for the 1978 Interim Batasang Pambansa regional elections. The party had 21 candidates for the Metro Manila area, all of whom lost, including Ninoy. The party's acronym (Laban) is a Filipino word meaning "fight". After Aquino's exile to the United States, the party was managed by his brother-in-law, Peping Cojuangco. The Laban ng Makabayang Masang Pilipino () was the umbrella political opposition coalition during the 1998 Philippine general election that led to the election of then Vice President Joseph Estrada as President of the Philippines. It was the largest political party during that time, uniting the major Philippine political parties which included Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino, Nationalist People's Coalition and Partido ng Masang Pilipino, along with minor and regional parties.
