Overworld (band)
Overworld is an alternative metal band from Sweden, formed in 2011 in Stockholm. The band is composed of guitarists Nikke and Kaz, bassist Lynx and the drummer Andie. Despite the band being young and newly formed, its members are not new to the scene, having previously played in other Swedish underground acts. They play a type of music self-titled as "adrenaline rock 'n' roll metal".Black Water Project – interviews of cool bands! The band's name originates from a drunken conversation between Kaz and Andie about taking over the world, a phrase which was shortened to become "Overworld". Debut EP (2012) The band's debut EP, called "Perfect Anomaly", was released digitally on 25 May 2012 worldwide, rising quickly to the top of the Swedish iTunes, charts at # 12 on every album and # 5 in Rock. Alternative Metal
Alternative metal (also known as alt-metal) is a genre of heavy metal music that combines heavy metal with influences from alternative rock and other genres not normally associated with metal. Alternative metal bands are often characterized by heavily downtuned, mid-paced guitar riffs, a mixture of accessible melodic vocals and harsh vocals and sometimes unconventional sounds within other heavy metal styles. The term has been in use since the 1980s, although it came into prominence in the 1990s. Other genres considered part of the alternative metal movement included rap metal and funk metal, both of which influenced another prominent subgenre, nu metal. Endigo
Tobias Ulf Eddie Endigo Öberg (born 10 March 1992), known professionally as Endigo, is a Swedish YouTuber, musician, and drag queen. They are best known as a metal singer, a TV personality in Japan and the creator of several viral meme songs. Endigo currently lives in Tokyo, Japan, and identifies as non-binary. In 2023, Endigo participated in the first season of ''Drag Race Sverige''. Career 2009–2014: Early musical career Coming from a family of musicians, Endigo grew up always wanting to do music for a living. ''Screamer Magazine'', which billed itself "The Loudest Mag on The Planet", was an American rock music magazine. It was created by David F. Castagno in October 1987. The publication started out as a vehicle in which to promote local rock bands in the Los Angeles area. Sweden Rock Festival
The Sweden Rock Festival is an annual rock/metal festival held in Sweden since 6 June 1992. While having a clear rock/metal focus, the festival is noted for its diversity across these genres, from southern rock bands such as Molly Hatchet to death metal legends like Obituary. The first version of the festival, known as Sommarfestivalen i Olofström, was held in Olofström in 1992. In 1993 the festival moved to Karlshamn, and changed its name to Karlshamn Rock Festival. In 1998, the festival moved to Norje, although the name Karlshamn Rock Festival was kept. In 1999 the name was changed to the Sweden Rock Festival. When the festival began in 1992, it featured nine relatively unknown bands and it only lasted one day. The next year the festival was expanded to two days and more bands were added to the line-up.
