Othman Moqbel
Othman Moqbel is a British-Palestinian non-profit executive. He is currently CEO of Action For Humanity, the parent charity of Syria Relief, the largest Syria-focused NGO in the UK. He was formerly a trustee of AVECO, Charity Futures. and was CEO of Human Appeal from 2010 to 2017. In 2017, Othman Moqbel was nominated for the BOND Humanitarian Award. Education and early career Moqbel earned his BA and MA in Islamic Studies from the University of Jordan (Amman) and holds a diploma in Muslim Chaplaincy from the Markfield Institute of Higher Education (Leicester). Action For Humanity (AFH) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief in areas affected by conflict, natural disasters, and other crises. Syria Relief
Syria Relief is the largest Syria-focused NGO in the United Kingdom. Syria Relief stated that they "are dedicated to alleviating the suffering and supporting the future of Syrians who have been affected by the crisis, mainly inside Syria." Syria Relief was formed in 2011 at the start of the Syrian Civil War, since then they have reached millions of people, distributing "hundreds of millions" worth of aid. The charity was initially set up as a short-term humanitarian aid project at the start of the conflict, however it has since grown in size.
