Action For Humanity
Action For Humanity (AFH) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief in areas affected by conflict, natural disasters, and other crises. The organisation focuses on delivering emergency assistance, supporting long-term recovery, and advocating for vulnerable populations. Originally founded as Syria Relief in 2011 by a group of doctors to provide assistance and aid to those devastated by conflict. Action For Humanity is the parent charity of Syria Relief, the largest Syria-focused NGO in the United Kingdom. Action For Humanity has operations in Syria, Yemen, Ukraine and Pakistan. In 2022, the organisation operated 306 schools inside Syria. The charity is a large recipient of United Nations funding. Othman Moqbel
Othman Moqbel is a British-Palestinian non-profit executive. He is currently CEO of Action For Humanity, the parent charity of Syria Relief, the largest Syria-focused NGO in the UK. He was formerly a trustee of AVECO, Charity Futures. and was CEO of Human Appeal from 2010 to 2017. In 2017, Othman Moqbel was nominated for the BOND Humanitarian Award. Education and early career Moqbel earned his BA and MA in Islamic Studies from the University of Jordan (Amman) and holds a diploma in Muslim Chaplaincy from the Markfield Institute of Higher Education (Leicester). He previously served as a Muslim faith adviser to the University of Nottingham. He previously worked with Human Appeal and as a project manager for another charity, Muslim Hands. An international non-governmental organization (INGO) is an organization which is independent of government involvement and extends the concept of a non-governmental organization (NGO) to an international scope.
