Osku Maukonen
Osku Maukonen (born 15 February 2007) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Ykkösliiga club Lahti. Club career FC Lahti On 14 November 2022, Maukonen signed his first professional contract with his hometown club FC Lahti on a three-year deal, at the age of 15. Maukonen made his debut in Veikkausliiga with FC Lahti on 3 June 2023, after being named in the starting line-up against Ilves. Maukonen became the youngest ever goalkeeper to debut in the highest level in Finland, at the age of 16 years, 3 months and 19 days. He also became the first player born 2007 to debut in the league. His contract was extended on 8 October 2024 until the end of 2026. International career On 4 October 2023, Maukonen was named in the Finland U17 squad in the 2024 UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualification tournament. The 2025 Ykkösliiga is the second season of the Ykkösliiga, the second highest league in the Finnish football league system. The season began on 21 April 2025. The 2024 Veikkausliiga was the 94th season of top-tier football in Finland, which takes place from April to November. Veikkaus was the league's sponsor. Teams The league consisted of twelve teams; ten teams remaining from the previous season, and two teams promoted from the Ykkönen. HJK entered the season as defending champions (for the fourth consecutive season). Team changes EIF were promoted as champions of the 2023 Ykkönen (returning to the top flight after a 90-year absence), replacing the bottom-placed 2023 Veikkausliiga team ( KTP, relegated after a single-year stint in top flight). The winners ( HJK, their fourth successive title win and thirty-third overall) qualified for the Champions League first qualifying round. Kakkonen or II divisioona is the fourth level in the league system of Finnish football and comprises 36 Finnish football teams. Until the end of 2023, ''Kakkonen'' was the third-highest level in Finland, but after the creation of new second-tier Ykkösliiga, Kakkonen also dropped down one level in the league pyramid. The new fourth-tier Kakkonen is divided to three groups, each consisting of 10 teams. The II divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Kakkonen ( Finnish for 'Number Two'; ). It was the final season of the Kakkonen serving as the third-tier football league in Finland, following its demotion to fourth-tier.
