Orly Castel-Bloom
Orly Castel-Bloom (; born 1960, Tel Aviv) is an Israeli author. Biography Orly Castel-Bloom was born in Northern Tel Aviv in 1960, to a family of French-speaking Egyptian Jews. Until the age of three, she had French nannies and spoke only French. She studied film at Tel Aviv University and theater at the Beit Zvi School for the Performing Arts in Ramat Gan. Castel-Bloom lives in Tel Aviv and has two children. She has lectured at the universities of Harvard, UCLA, Cambridge and Oxford and currently teaches creative writing at Tel Aviv University. Literary career Castel-Bloom's first collection of short stories, ''Not Far from the Center of Town'' (''Lo Rahok mi-Merkhaz ha-Ir'')'','' was published in 1987 by Am Oved. Orly Goldwasser
Orly Goldwasser () is an Israeli Egyptologist, professor of Egyptology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Orly Goldwasser was born in Tel Aviv in 1951, received her B.A. at Tel Aviv University, and continued studying at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem where she was awarded her M.A. and PhD degrees. She occupies the chair of Egyptology at the Hebrew University and is an Honorary Professor at the University of Göttingen. She was guest professor at the University of Göttingen, Harvard University and at the Collège de France. Orly Levy-Abekasis
Orly Levy-Abekasis (; born 11 November 1973) is an Israeli politician and former member of the Knesset. Formerly a model, Levy-Abekasis first entered the Knesset in 2009 as a representative of Yisrael Beiteinu, but left the party in 2017 to sit as an independent. In 2019, she formed her own party, Gesher, to contest the April 2019 elections. Although the party failed to win a seat, she returned to the Knesset following the September 2019 elections, in which Gesher ran together with the Labor Party. In May 2020, she was appointed by Prime Minister Netanyahu as the newly created Minister for Community Empowerment and Advancement. Levy-Abekasis worked as a model and a local television host, before following her father into politics. Orlando "Orly" Sanchez Mercado (, born Orlando Mercado y Sanchez; April 26, 1946) is a Filipino politician and broadcast journalist best known for having served as a Senator of the Philippines from 1987 to 1998, Secretary of Defense from 1998 to 2001, and for his long career as a broadcast journalist, most famously for hosting the television program '' Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko''. Örlygur Hnefill Örlygsson (born 23 October 1983), known professionally as Orly Orlyson, is an Icelandic filmmaker, entrepreneur, hotelier, founder of The Exploration Museum and former President of the Húsavík town council. Orly Silbersatz-Banai (; born ) is an Israeli actress and singer. She has won two Ophir Awards and a prize from the Israeli Academy of Cinema and Television. Early life Orly Silbersatz was born in Israel, to a secular Jewish family of Ashkenazi Jewish descent. A dentist, lawyer, and former real estate agent, Taitz was a figure in the "birther" movement, which promoted the conspiracy theory that Barack Obama was not a natural-born citizen eligible to serve as president of the United States.
