Dick Oosting
Dick Oosting (born June 1946) is a Dutch human rights lawyer and activist. He headed Amnesty International's EU Office and was the CEO of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). Oosting was Chair of the Board of the Martin Ennals Foundation. Work at Amnesty In the mid-1970s he coordinated Amnesty International’s first worldwide campaign against torture (an activity highlighted in Amnesty's Nobel Peace Prize citation in 1977). He then served five years as Amnesty's Deputy Secretary General and returned to the Netherlands to head its Dutch national section. From 1999 he spent eight years in Brussels leading Amnesty's EU office. The International Center for Transitional Justice Oosting managed the Europe programme of the International Center for Transitional Justice, managing programmes in the former Yugoslavia, Cyprus and Afghanistan. The Henry J is an American automobile built by the Kaiser-Frazer Corporation and named after its chairman, Henry J. Kaiser. Production of six-cylinder models began in their Willow Run factory in Michigan on July 1950, and four-cylinder production started shortly after Labor Day, 1950. The official public introduction was on September 28, 1950. The car was marketed through 1954. Development The Henry J was the idea of Henry J. Kaiser, who sought to increase sales of his Kaiser automotive line by adding a car that could be built inexpensively and thus affordable for the average American in the same vein that Henry Ford produced the Model T. The goal was to attract "less affluent buyers who could only afford a used car" and the attempt became a pioneering American compact car. Adriana Johanna Wilhelmina (Jeanne) Bieruma Oosting (1898–1994) was a Dutch sculptor, engraver, graphic artist, lithographer, illustrator, glass artist, painter, illustrator and book designer.
