Oleh Kutsyn
Oleh Ivanovych Kutsyn ( uk, Олег Іванович Куцин; 23 November 1965 – 19 June 2022) was a Ukrainian public, political and military figure who was head of the "Legion of Freedom" of the Svoboda (political party), Svoboda party. He was also commander of the 49th Infantry Battalion (Ukraine), 49th Infantry Battalion (commonly known as the Carpathian Sich Battalion), deputy head of the Tiachiv district state administration (2005–2006), and twice elected as a deputy of the Tiachiv City Council. Biography Oleh Kutsyn was born on 23 November 1965 in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, where his parents were studying at that time. He graduated from Tiachiv Secondary School No. 1, now Secondary School No. 1 named after Vasyl Grenji-Donsky. Ivano-Frankivsk ( uk, Іва́но-Франкі́вськ, translit=Iváno-Frankívśk ), formerly Stanyslaviv ( pl, Stanisławów ; german: Stanislau), is a city located in Western Ukraine. The People's Movement of Ukraine ( uk, Народний Рух України, Narodnyi Rukh Ukrayiny) is a Ukrainian political party and first opposition party in Soviet Ukraine. Often it is simply referred to as the Movement ( uk, Рух, Rukh). The party under the name Rukh was an observer member of the European People's Party (EPP) until 2013. Battle Of Izium (2022)
The Battle of Izium was a military engagement between Russia and Ukraine that occurred as part of the Eastern Ukraine offensive during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The battle started in March 2022 for control of the town of Izium due to the town's importance as a transportation node. The Russian military wanted to capture Izium so its forces in the Kharkiv Oblast could link up with their troops in the Donbas region. On 10 September 2022, Ukrainian forces recaptured the town during the 2022 Ukrainian Kharkiv counteroffensive and local mass graves with 440 bodies were found. Second Battle Of Donetsk Airport
A part of the ongoing war in the Donbas region of Ukraine, the Second Battle of Donetsk Airport began on 28 September 2014. An earlier battle in May 2014 had left Donetsk International Airport in Ukrainian control. Despite a ceasefire agreement, the Minsk Protocol, in place starting 5 September 2014, fighting broke out between Donetsk People's Republic forces affiliated with Russia, and Ukrainian military and volunteer forces. At the start of the battle, the airport lay between the separatist and Ukrainian lines of control, and was the last part of Donetsk city held by Ukrainian government forces. Heavy fighting over the airport continued into the new year, with some of the worst fighting taking place in January 2015.
