State Route 246 (SR 246) is a east–west state highway in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. The western terminus of SR 246 is at the interchange with Interstate 475/U.S. Route 23 (I-475/US 23) at the western border of Toledo. Its eastern terminus is at a signalized intersection with SR 51 in downtown Toledo. Created in the late 1920s, this state route is located entirely within the city limits of Toledo. Lucas County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. It is bordered to the east by Lake Erie, and to the southeast by the Maumee River, which runs to the lake. Interstate 475 (I-475) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway in Ohio that is a western bypass of Toledo. The southern terminus is I-75 exit 192 near Perrysburg. From the southern terminus to exit 14, I-475 is cosigned with US Route 23 (US 23) and is signed the north–south section of I-475. From exit 14 to the eastern (northernmost) terminus at I-75 exit 204 in central Toledo (north of downtown), it is signed the east–west section of I-475. Although I-475 crosses I-80/I-90 (the Ohio Turnpike), there is no interchange and one must drive a couple of miles through surface streets between I-475 exit 6 and I-80/I-90 exit 59. State Route 51 (SR 51) is a northwest-southeast highway (signed north-south) in northwest Ohio. Its southern terminus is at U.S. Route 20 just south of Elmore, Ohio, and its northern terminus is at its interchange, along with State Route 184, at U.S. Route 23 in Sylvania, Ohio. Before an ODOT signage project in 2010, the northern (western) portion of the route, from its northern (western) terminus to the Maumee River was signed as an east-west route. Fulton County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio west of Toledo. As of the 2020 census, the population was 42,713. Its county seat is Wauseon. The county was created in 1850 with land from Henry, Lucas, and Williams counties and is named for Robert Fulton, inventor of the steamboat. Fulton County is a part of the Toledo/ Lucas County statistical area. History The first seat of justice in Fulton County was Ottokee, located there because of its central location in the county.
