René Obermann (born 5 March 1963) is a German businessman who is chairman of Warburg Pincus International LLC's European operations, and chairman of Airbus SE since April 2020. He was previously (from November 2006 to December 2013) CEO of Deutsche Telekom AG. Early life Obermann was born in Düsseldorf and was raised in Krefeld. After graduating from high school and completing military service, where he spent two years in the air force, he started his professional career at BMW in Munich and completed a business apprenticeship programme in 1986. From 1986 to 1988, he studied economics at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster. Holger Obermann (31 August 1936 – 30 October 2021) was a German professional football player and football manager, journalist and ARD television reporter. Career Obermann was born in Kassel. He first started playing for KSV Hessen Kassel. He continued his career at Concordia Hamburg and FSV Frankfurt. In 1961, he went to the United States, where he was the first German professional. He played in New York City at Elizabeth S.C. the 1st German-American Soccer League. His journalist career began with an internship at the Hamburger Morgenpost. Later, he was an editor and foreign correspondent for the New Yorker Staats-Zeitung, head of a German radio station and staff of the American television ABC in Miami. After his return to Germany in 1966, he was a senior editor at TV the Hessischer Rundfunk, later head of the editorial Television Sports currently at South German Radio. Jacob Obermann
Jacob Obermann (March 23, 1819 – April 24, 1887) was a German immigrant to the United States who became a prominent businessman in Milwaukee, Wisconsin's brewing industry. Personal life Obermann was born in Germany on March 23, 1819. He immigrated to the United States in 1843. He was a Mason and a member of the ''Turner Society''. His father was Peter and he had a brother (Caspar) and sister (Catherine). He married twice; Maria until her death in 1852, then Barbara. He had four children (Barbara, Mary, Richard, Edwin) with his second wife. He had at least four other children (Philip, Gustav, George, Herman), probably from his first marriage. He was a member of the Milwaukee Common Council. He died on April 24, 1887, at the age of 68 and is buried in Union Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Karl Obermann (22 September 1905 – 10 July 1987) was a German historian. He became the first director of the Historical Institute of the (East) German Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Life Karl Obermann was born in Cologne. His father was a factory worker. There was no money for him to progress to a university level education so after leaving secondary school he undertook an apprenticeship in technical drawing. Obermann became unemployed in 1928. He was able to attend lectures at the university in Sociology and Economic History as a "guest attendee". During this time he was supporting himself, at least in part, through freelance journalism. Obermann discovered the young socialist movement through the "Wandervogel" hiking clubs.
