Não Wave
is a series of three albums (one compilation and two extended plays) released between 2005 and 2008 by German independent record company Man Recordings. is Portuguese for "no wave", in an allusion to the artistic scene that had its beginnings during the late 1970s through the mid-1980s in New York City characterized by heavy experimentation. ''Não Wave'' The first compilation album was released on 25 April 2005 and was the first album Man Recordings ever released. It contains a collection of songs from various bands and artists that formed the São Paulo underground post-punk scene of the early 1980s (with the exception of Black Future and Vzyadoq Moe, who hail from Rio de Janeiro and Sorocaba, respectively). Of all bands present in the compilation, only Ira! would achieve mainstream success during its lifespan. A disc jockey, more commonly abbreviated as DJ, is a person who plays recorded music for an audience. An extended play (EP) is a Sound recording and reproduction, musical recording that contains more tracks than a Single (music), single but fewer than an album. Daniel Haaksman
Daniel Haaksman (born 1968) is a Berlin-based German DJ, producer, journalist and label boss. He showed the music of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro to an international audience for the first time when he released the compilation album ''Rio Baile Funk Favela Booty Beats'' in 2004. His song "Kid Conga" with MC Miltinho is included in the 2008 video game ''Grand Theft Auto IV'', in the expansion '' Episodes from Liberty City''. In 2005 Haaksman founded the Man Recordings label. He has released several EPs, studio albums as well as remixes. As a DJ he has travelled around the world and performed at various night clubs, festivals and events. Mercenárias ( Portuguese for "Mercenaries"), sometimes erroneously referred to as As Mercenárias, are a Brazilian all-female rock band formed in São Paulo in 1982, by bassist Sandra Coutinho, vocalist Rosália Munhoz and guitarist Ana Machado. Fellini (band)
Fellini was a Brazilian Rock music, rock band formed in São Paulo in 1984 by Cadão Volpato (vocals, harmonica), Jair Marcos (guitar), Ricardo Salvagni (drums and percussion), and former Voluntários da Pátria and Smack (Brazilian band), Smack member Thomas Pappon (bass and occasionally other instruments). Azul 29 ( Portuguese for Blue 29) was a short-lived Brazilian new wave band, founded in 1982 by two former members of synthpop band Agentss. They are famous for their 1984 hit "Videogame". History Azul 29 was founded in the city of São Paulo in April 1982, by Agentss guitarist Eduardo Amarante and Thomas Bielefeld. Their first recording was the song "Ciências Sensuais". After Agentss disbanded in 1983, Amarante and Bielefeld were joined by Malcolm Oakley and Thomas "Miko" Susemihl (who also played for Agentss). Ira! (Brazilian Portuguese, Portuguese for ''Anger!'' or ''Rage (emotion), Rage!'', although the name was inspired by the Irish Republican Army) is a Brazilian rock band that was founded in São Paulo in the early 1980s.
