''Nowhere'' is the debut album by British shoegaze band Ride, released on 15 October 1990. It received mixed reception on its initial release, but has since been reappraised in retrospect as a notable shoegaze album. Background and production Prior to the release of ''Nowhere'', Ride had previously released three EPs, '' a self-titled EP'', ''Play'', and '' Fall''; subsequent reissues of the album have featured songs from these EPs, especially its 20th anniversary edition in 2011. ''Nowhere'' was recorded with and partially produced by Marc Waterman, who backed out of the sessions, resulting in Alan Moulder mixing the final album. The band members were between 18 and 20 during the recording of ''Nowhere''. Mark Gardener described it as a "nighttime sort of record", and recalled the band working on the album in the studio during late-night hours and long sessions. ''Nowhere'' is a 1997 black comedy drama film written and directed by Gregg Araki. Described by Araki as "''Beverly Hills, 90210'' on acid", the film follows a day in the lives of a group of Los Angeles college students and the strange lives that they lead. It stars an ensemble cast led by James Duval and Rachel True. The film is Araki's sixth overall and third entry in his ''Teenage Apocalypse'' film trilogy, preceded by '' Totally F***ed Up'' (1993) and ''The Doom Generation'' (1995). Like the other films in the trilogy, it contains scenes of graphic violence and sexuality. ''Courage the Cowardly Dog'' is an American animated comedy horror television series created by John R. Dilworth for Cartoon Network. It was produced by Dilworth's animation studio, Stretch Films. The eponymous character is an anxious dog who lives with an elderly couple, Muriel and Eustace Bagge, in a farmhouse in the middle of Nowhere, a fictional town in Kansas. Unlike their previous single, "Red Stars", the ''Looking Glass EP'' is a physical release rather than a digital download available through iTunes.
