Not A Single Doubt (1 October 2001 - 27 June 2022) was an Australian thoroughbred racehorse and successful stallion, having sired over 70 individual stakes winners. Background A first-crop son and the first stakes winner of champion sire Redoute's Choice, Not A Single Doubt was homebred at Arrowfield Stud and is by the mare, Singles Bar, a daughter of Rory's Jester. Racing career 2003/04: two-year-old season Originally trained by Graeme Rogerson at Randwick Racecourse, Not A Single Doubt won his first three starts by a combined 9 lengths including the Canonbury Stakes and the inaugural Strawberry Hill Slipper Stakes at Wyong where he set a new course record time. Redoute's Choice
Redoute's Choice (15 August 1996 – 26 March 2019) was a multiple Group One-winning Australian Thoroughbred racehorse and also a champion sire. He is by the phenomenal international sire Danehill (USA) out of the lightly raced mare Shantha's Choice (Canny Lad-Dancing Show). His dam is a half-sister to the Group One winners Hurricane Sky (by Star Watch) and Umatilla (by Miswaki (USA)), and later produced the Group One winners Platinum Scissors (also by Danehill) and Manhattan Rain (by Encosta De Lago). Racing career Redoute's Choice was raced by his breeder, Sri Lankan businessman Muzaffar Ali Yaseen, and trained by Rick Hore-Lacy. On debut, he won the Listed Veuve Cliquot Stakes (1,100 metres) at Caulfield on 20 February 1999. The Doomben Cup is a Brisbane Racing Club Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race for horses three years old and older, run under Weight for Age conditions over a distance of 2000 metres at Doomben Racecourse, Brisbane, Australia during the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival. Total prize money is A$1,000,000. History The race was first held in 1933 as a principal race won by Pentheus in a time of 2.05.7 over the 10 furlongs. Extreme Choice (foaled 6 September 2013) is a retired Thoroughbred racehorse and active sire trained and bred in Australia. He won the Blue Diamond Stakes and the A J Moir Stakes, Group One races. He amassed over a million dollars in winnings. Racing career On 12 December 2015, Extreme Choice made his debut in the $500,000 Inglis Nursery, which horses that were sold at The Inglis Yearling Sales are eligible to enter. The horse won, but had to trial 4 days before the race to qualify. Trainer Mick Price said, "I normally wouldn't do it, but I had to squeeze everything into him between gallops and trials and race day. You've got to have the horse to do it. Champions Mile
The Champions Mile is a Group 1 flat horse race in Hong Kong for three-year-old and above thoroughbreds run over a distance of 1,600 metres (approximately 1 mile) on the turf at Sha Tin Racecourse with the total purse of HK$14m in 2014/15, approximately US$1.8m. It was first run in 2001, and was opened to international competition in 2005 and granted an international grade 1 status in 2007. History The race is often used as a lead-up race by good horses preparing for the longer feature races such as the Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup. Such horses typically compete against less glamorous, and usually fitter, sprinter-milers who have been trained specifically for this race. Railway Stakes (Perth Racing)
The Railway Stakes is an Australian Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race under handicap race conditions over a distance of 1600 metres at Ascot Racecourse in Perth in late November. Prizemoney is A$1,500,000. History The inaugural running of the event was held on Perth Cup day in 1887 with stakes of 60 sovereigns when the three-year-old Nimrod won the event over Hermit. The following season the race was held on New Year's Day 1889 and in the renewal of the race Hermit won the race while Nimrod finished third. The event continued to be part of the Western Australian Turf Club's Summer Carnival with the race being scheduled on the same day as the Perth Cup. In 2001 the WATC rescheduled the event to late November. From 2011 to 2015 the race date was considered the richest day in thoroughbred racing in Perth, known as Super Saturday, with the Winterbottom Stakes, WA Guineas and several other Listed Races.
