It is entirely in the boundaries of Union County and serves to connect the city of Monroe to the city of Pageland, South Carolina, at the South Carolina state line via SC 207. Route description From the North Carolina-South Carolina state line, NC 207 is a two-lane rural highway traversing north through rolling hills of farmland. Once it enters Monroe city limits, it becomes Haynes Street, where it connects several neighborhoods until it reaches the downtown business district. At Franklin Street, the road widens to four-lanes. At Church Street, it becomes Skyway Drive, continuing over the CSX rail yard it continue due north till it reaches Roosevelt Boulevard, where NC 207 ends at an interchange with US 74, US 601, and NC 200. Spindale is a town in Rutherford County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 4,225 at the 2020 census. History Spindale originated as a mill town from its first textile mill, Spencer Mills, in 1916, until its last textile mill, Stonecutter Mills, organized by J. B. Tanner in 1920, which closed in 1999. The town of Spindale was incorporated on August 21, 1923. It serves the Foothills and Piedmont Triad areas of the state, connecting the cities of Shelby, Mooresville, Salisbury and Winston-Salem. Chesnee, South Carolina
Chesnee is a city in Spartanburg and Cherokee counties, in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The population was 868 as of the 2010 census. History In the early 20th century, the Chesnee Land Company bought a sizeable acreage at what is now Chesnee. A leading member of the company was John B. Cleveland of Spartanburg. Cleveland named the company - and later the town - after his great-grandmother, Margaret Chesnee, who was born in Scotland. She married Alexander Vernon, also born in Scotland. The Clinchfield Railroad ran an excursion train over the newly laid rails to Spartanburg on October 23, 1909. The Chesnee post office was established in 1910, and the town was chartered in 1911.
