Nolan West
Nolan West (born September 30, 1990) is an American politician serving in the Minnesota House of Representatives since 2017. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, West represents District 37B in the northern Twin Cities metropolitan area, which includes the city of Blaine and parts of Anoka County. Early life, education, and career West was raised in Blaine, Minnesota. He attended Meadow Creek Christian School in Andover (the year after he graduated, the school’s name was changed to Legacy Christian Academy). He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in history with a minor in political science. He was a legislative assistant for the Republican caucus in the Minnesota House of Representatives for almost two years until he resigned in September 2016 following reports of several racist posts he had made on Facebook. Timothy A. Sanders (born 1982) is an American politician serving as the mayor of Blaine, Minnesota, since 2021 and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, he represented District 37B, which included parts of Anoka County, in the northern part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, from 2009 to 2017, having decided not to seek reelection in 2016. Mary Murphy (politician)
Mary Catherine Murphy (born October 25, 1939) is an American politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. She is a retired history and social studies teacher at Duluth Central High School in Duluth (1964–97). She is active in historical preservation and works as a grounds manager. Murphy was first elected in 1976, and was reelected every two years through 2020. Before the 1982 legislative redistricting, she represented District 14B, and before the 2002 redistricting, she represented District 8A. Timothy James Walz ( ; born April 6, 1964) is an American politician and retired educator. A member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), he has served as the 41st governor of Minnesota since 2019.
