No Nuclear War
''No Nuclear War'' is the seventh and final studio album by the Jamaican musician Peter Tosh, released in 1987. Tosh was murdered shortly after its release; he had returned to Jamaica after meetings in New York City to discuss the lack of promotion for the album. Tosh was also upset that, despite the language in his contract with EMI Records, the album had been released in South Africa. Before recording ''No Nuclear War'', Tosh had spent four years protesting elements of his record contract. Neville Garrick
Kenneth Neville Anthony Garrick (28 July 1950 – 14 November 2023) was a Jamaican graphic artist and photographer who was based in Los Angeles. He was a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is best known as Bob Marley's art director and is responsible for many of the iconic designs associated with the reggae movement in the 1970s and 1980s. Early life and career Kenneth Neville Anthony Garrick was born in Jamaica on 28 July 1950. He attended Kingston College in Jamaica before studying graphic art (after switching from economics) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), on a football scholarship, where he played for the UCLA Bruins men's soccer team, reaching the National Collegiate Athletic Association finals in both 1971 and 1972. Ruddy Thomas (12 July 1951 – 10 June 2006) was a Jamaican reggae singer, musician, and recording engineer, who had his greatest successes as a singer in the late 1970s and early 1980s with lovers rock songs. Biography Thomas worked for producer Joe Gibbs in the 1970s, running and arranging recording sessions, and providing percussion and backing vocals. He recorded several singles for Gibbs, including "Every Day Is a Holiday", "Let's Make a Baby" and a version of Dobby Dobson's "Loving Pauper". Thomas's version of "Loving Pauper" was the number one song of the year on the 1978 RJR Top 100. He had a number one reggae hit in the United Kingdom in 1981 with "Just One Moment Away". J.C. Lodge (born June Carol Lodge, 1 December 1958) is a British-Jamaican reggae singer, fine artist and teacher. Her breakthrough hit " Someone Loves You, Honey" became the best-selling single of 1982 in the Netherlands.
