No Más (album)
''No Más'' is the debut studio album by American production duo Javelin, consisting of cousins George Langford and Tom Van Buskirk. It was released on April 6, 2010 by Luaka Bop. Development Formed in 2005, Javelin had previously independently released a demo album, ''Jamz n Jemz'', as well two limited 12-inches on the label Thrill Jockey, ''Javelin'' and ''Number Two''. Having 100 tracks they had previously made for years, all varying in styles and how they were recorded, the challenge of making ''No Mas'' was in how the duo would choose what songs would be on the album, and how those songs would fit together on the record. Langford explained, "we were mainly just aiming to just occupy a sonic space that was sort of warm and inviting. An album is almost like an imagined space, it’s like where does this take place, where does this sound bring you? And so we basically just tried to make a cohesive album with those things in mind." Javelin (band)
Javelin is a production duo based in Brooklyn, New York City. Cousins George Langford and Tom Van Buskirk started making music together in Providence, RI in 2005, although their earliest tape experiments date back to childhood. Each member is a multi-instrumentalist. George plays the guitar, bass guitar, drums, and mandolin, while Tom plays the cello and piano. The duo has been described as "''obsessed with old school hip-hop of an ‘80s vintage''". While creating mostly mellow electro-pop/80s-synth style music, the band's music is very eclectic and they have even produced a country music album. For years, Javelin used colorfully painted boomboxes on stage to color their sound like a guitar amp. The signal from the show was broadcast via FM transmitter, fostering audience participation (B.Y.O. Boombox) or fueling battery-powered, mobile parties. "Push It" is a song by American hip hop group Salt-N-Pepa. It was first released as the B-side of the "Tramp" single in 1987. Then released by Next Plateau and London Records, it peaked at number 19 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in early 1988 and, after initially peaking at number 41 in the UK, it re-entered the charts after the group performed the track at Nelson Mandela's 70th birthday concert, eventually peaking at number two in the UK in July 1988. is a 1991 platform game developed and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis. It was released in PAL regions on June 21, North America two days later on June 23 and in Japan the following month. Players control Sonic the Hedgehog, who can run at supersonic speeds. Sonic sets out on a quest to defeat Dr. Robotnik, a scientist who has imprisoned animals in robots and seeks the powerful Chaos Emeralds. The gameplay involves collecting rings as a form of health, and a simple control scheme, with jumping and attacking controlled by a single button. Development began in 1990 when Sega ordered its developers to create a game featuring a mascot for the company. The developers chose a blue hedgehog designed by Naoto Ohshima after he won an internal character design contest, and named themselves Sonic Team to match their character.
