Fioletovo ( hy, Ֆիոլետովո) is a village in the Lori Province of Armenia. Toponymy The village was known as ''Nikitino'' until 1936, when it was renamed ''Fioletovo'' in honour of the Russian Communist activist and one of the 26 Baku Commissars Ivan Fioletov. Molokans
The Molokans ( rus, молокан, p=məlɐˈkan or , "dairy-eater") are a Spiritual Christian sect that evolved from Eastern Orthodoxy in the East Slavic lands. Their traditions—especially dairy consumption during Christian fasts—did not conform to those of the Russian Orthodox Church, and they were regarded as heretics (''sektanty''). The term ''Molokan'' is an exonym used by their Orthodox neighbors; they tend to identify themselves as Spiritual Christians (духовные христиане: ''dukhovnye khristiane''). There are almost as many different ways among Molokans as there are Molokans. Lori Province
Lori ( hy, Լոռի, ), is a province (''marz'') of Armenia. It is located in the north of the country, bordering Georgia. Vanadzor is the capital and largest city of the province. Other important towns include Stepanavan, Alaverdi, and Spitak. It is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries and the well-preserved Akhtala monastery, where Armenians, Georgians, and Greeks make an annual pilgrimage on September 20–21. 26 Baku Commissars
The 26 Baku Commissars were Bolshevik and Left Socialist Revolutionary (SR) members of the Baku Commune. The commune was established in the city of Baku, which was then the capital of the briefly independent Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, and is now the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The commune, led by Stepan Shahumyan, existed until 26 July 1918 when the Bolsheviks were forced out of power by a coalition of Dashnaks, Right SRs, and Mensheviks. After their overthrow, the Baku commissars attempted to leave Baku but were captured by the Centrocaspian Dictatorship and imprisoned. Ivan Fioletov
Ivan Timofeevich Fioletov (Russian: Иван Тимофеевич Фиолетов; 1884 – 20 September 1918) was a Russian revolutionary activist and one of the Bolshevik Party leaders in Azerbaijan during the Russian Revolution. Biography Fioletov was born into a poor peasant family in Tugolukovo, in the Tambov Governorate of the Russian Empire. In 1890 his family moved to Baku where he worked as a metalworker. He became a member of Russian Social Democratic Labour Party in 1900 and during the Russian Revolution of 1905 he was one of the trade union activists of oil-industry workers in Groznyy and Baku. Fioletov became one of the 26 Baku Commissars of the Soviet Commune that was established in the city after the October Revolution.
