Nick Hipa
Samuel Nicholas Hipa (born November 30, 1982) is an American musician. He is the current lead guitarist of Mire, lead guitarist of Wovenwar, and was the longtime former lead guitarist of As I Lay Dying (band), As I Lay Dying. He has also been touring rhythm guitarist for God Forbid since 2022. Background Hipa started his musical career with the band Evelynn. The band was signed to Pluto Records. In 2001, Evelynn toured with As I Lay Dying (band), As I Lay Dying. As Evelynn started to disperse, Hipa joined As I Lay Dying in 2003. As I Lay Dying ran its course with the same lineup since 2007, up until Tim Lambesis' arrest, when Hipa, Phil Sgrosso, and Josh Gilbert (musician), Josh Gilbert departed from the band. Metalcore
Metalcore is a broadly defined fusion genre combining elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk, originating in the 1990s United States and becoming popular in the 2000s. Metalcore typically has aggressive verses and melodic choruses, combined with Breakdown (music), breakdowns – which are slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining traits are low-tuned, percussive guitar riffs, double bass drumming, and polished production. ''Wovenwar'' is the debut studio album by American metal band Wovenwar. Released on August 5, 2014, through Metal Blade Records, the album was produced by Bill Stevenson and mixed by Colin Richardson. The debut single, "All Rise", was released on April 21, 2014, followed by "The Mason" on June 18, 2014, and "Death to Rights" on February 17, 2015, with the latter single becoming the third most added song on active rock radio. ''Wovenwar'' was generally well received by critics; at Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 71, based on 5 reviews. James Vincent Shanahan (born August 7, 1977), known professionally as Jamey Jasta, is an American vocalist, best known as the lead singer of metalcore band Hatebreed and sludge metal band Kingdom of Sorrow. Jasta also fronts metalcore band Icepick. Prior to Hatebreed, he fronted the hardcore band Jasta 14. Career In 2000 Jasta was featured as a guest vocalist on Catch 22's ''Alone in a Crowd''. Hatebreed is an American metalcore/ hardcore band from Bridgeport, Connecticut, formed in 1994. The band released its debut album ''Satisfaction Is the Death of Desire'' in 1997, which gave the band a cult following. The band signed to Universal Records and released '' Perseverance'' in 2002, which hit the ''Billboard'' 200. The band is described to combine elements of hardcore and heavy metal. They have played a major role in the Connecticut hardcore scene. History Hatebreed was formed in 1994 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. William Jacob Luhrs is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist of the metalcore band August Burns Red. He is also the founder and president of HeartSupport, a non-profit mental health organization. Musical background Luhrs was influenced to pursue music after attending a Strike Anywhere concert, where he had a memorable interaction with the band's lead singer, Thomas Barnett. He first entered the music scene in Columbia, South Carolina where he was the frontman for a band known as She Walks In Beauty. The band released two EPs on which Luhrs was featured but eventually disbanded.
