Newcastle University Football Club is a football club based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England. They are current members of the and play at Kimberley Park, groundsharing with Prudhoe Youth Club. History Newcastle University joined the Northern Alliance in the 1970s, leaving the league after finishing bottom in the 1978–79 season. In 1988, the club rejoined the Northern Alliance league system, being placed in Division One. In the 1991–1992 season, Newcastle University were relegated to Division Two, gaining promotion back to Division One in 1997. In 2000, Newcastle University gained promotion to the Northern Alliance Premier Division. After relegation and promotion in 2010 and 2016 respectively, Newcastle University won the 2017–18 Northern Football Alliance, dropping points in just five games out of thirty. Prudhoe
Prudhoe ( ) is a town and civil parish in the south of Northumberland, England. It is west of Newcastle upon Tyne and situated on a steep, north-facing hill on the south bank of the River Tyne. Cochrane Park, located at Newcastle upon Tyne, England, is the principal competitive venue for football, rugby and cricket at Newcastle University. It is named after Sir Cecil Cochrane who donated 20 acres of land to the university. It has three county standard football pitches, three county standard rugby pitches, a cricket square, a lacrosse pitch and five tennis courts. 2023–24 Northern Football League
The 2023–24 season was the 126th in the history of the Northern Football League, a football competition in England. The league operates two divisions in the English football league system, Division One at Step 5, and Division Two at Step 6. The allocations for Steps 5 and 6 this season were announced by the Football Association on 15 May 2023. Starting this season, the league's Division One (Step 5) promotes two clubs; one as champions and one via a four-team play-off. This replaced the previous inter-step play-off system. 2019–20 FA Vase
The 2019–20 Buildbase FA Vase was the 46th season of the FA Vase, an annual football competition for teams playing below Step 4 of the English National League System. The competition was played with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. All first-leg ties until the semi-finals were played with extra time if level after 90 minutes – first-leg ties may also be resolved with penalties if both teams agree and notify the referee at least 45 minutes before kick-off, per rule 11a of the Rules of the Challenge Vase. The competition was paused at the semi-final stage due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The Football Association Challenge Vase, also known as the Isuzu FA Vase for sponsorship reasons, is an annual football competition run by and named after The Football Association (The FA), for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System.
