Never Say Die Records (NSD), commonly referred to and known as Never Say Die, was a British independent electronic music record label well-known for releasing bass music, dubstep, and trap music singles, extended plays (EPs), and albums The label was home to artists such as Dodge & Fuski, Dr. Ozi, Eptic, Habstrakt, Kompany, Megalodon, LAXX, Spag Heddy, Must Die!, Trampa, and Zomboy. History Never Say Die was founded and incorporated as a limited company (LTD) in London on July 17, 2009 by two dubstep artists: Thomas "SKisM" Petais and Nicholas "Mobscene" Sadler. Petais founded Never Say Die because he "wanted to continue making bass music and working in the industry" due to the decline of the breaks scene; a scene he used to be in. On December 7, 2009, Never Say Die released its very first single, with remixes from other artists, called ''Ruffneck 09'' by Ctrl-Z & The Freestylers with vocals from Reggae artist Navigator. Bass music is a term used to describe several genres of electronic dance music and hip hop music arising from the 1980s on, focusing on a prominent bass drum and/or bassline sound. Trap music, also known simply as trap, is a subgenre of hip-hop music which originated in the Southern United States, with lyrical references to trap starting in 1991 but the modern sound of trap appearing in 1999. Joshua Mellody (born Joshua Paul Jenkin, 1 June 1989), professionally known as Zomboy, is an English dubstep music producer, songwriter, and DJ whose mascot is a zombie. Biography Before Joshua Mellody was active under the name Zomboy, he had an electronicore project called Place Your Bet$, under which a self-titled demo album was released in 2010. Lee Austin Bates (born July 2, 1991), better known by his alias Must Die (stylized as MUST DIE!), is an American electronic musician, DJ, and producer. Born in Houston, Bates is associated primarily for his music in the dubstep genre. Bates is known for the track "VIPs", a collaboration with American musician Skrillex, released on the label Owsla.
