Neu!
Neu! (; German for "New!"; styled in block capitals) were a West German krautrock band formed in Düsseldorf in 1971 by Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother following their departure from Kraftwerk. The group's albums were produced by Conny Plank, who has been regarded as the group's "hidden member". They released three albums in their initial incarnation—'' Neu!'' (1972), '' Neu! 2'' (1973), and '' Neu! 75'' (1975)—before disbanding in 1975. They briefly reunited in the mid-1980s. Although Neu! had minimal commercial success during their existence, the band are retrospectively considered a central act of West Germany's 1970s krautrock movement. They are known for pioneering the " motorik" beat, a minimalist rhythm associated with krautrock artists. Their work has exerted a widespread influence on genres such as electronica and punk. The National Education Union (NEU) is a trade union in the United Kingdom for school teachers, further education lecturers, education support staff and teaching assistants. It was formed by the amalgamation of the National Union of Teachers and the Association of Teachers and Lecturers in 2017. Near East University (NEU; , commonly referred to as YDÜ) is a private university located in Northern Cyprus. It was founded in North Nicosia in 1988, by Suat Günsel, a Turkish Cypriot who is the 100% owner of NEU. The chairman of the board of trustees is his son, Irfan Günsel. New Era University (NEU) is a private educational institution in the Philippines, run by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC). Although it is associated with the INC, it is a non-sectarian university. Polysics
is a Japanese techno/ electronic band from Tokyo, who dubs its unique style as "technicolor pogo punk". It was named after a brand of synthesizer, the Korg Polysix. The band started in 1997, but got their big break in 1998 at a concert in Tokyo. They create high energy music, fusing conventional guitar music with synthesized and computer generated sound to create a unique mixture of punk and synthpop heavily inspired by the American bands Devo and the Tubes, as well as Japanese bands such as P-Model and Yellow Magic Orchestra. Their song lyrics often consist of Japanese, English, or even gibberish. The band has been noted for their extremely energetic live performances and their wild gimmicky outfits, notably their straight-bar sunglasses and trademark orange boiler suits stamped with a simple "P". ''Neu!'' is the debut studio album by German krautrock band Neu!, released in 1972 by Brain Records. It was the first album recorded by the duo of Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger after leaving Kraftwerk in 1971. They continued to work with producer Konrad "Conny" Plank, who had also worked on the Kraftwerk recording sessions. Upon release, the album was largely ignored internationally but did well in West Germany, selling 35,000 copies. In 2001, the album was reissued by Grönland and then licensed to Astralwerks for US distribution. In 2014, ''Fact'' named it the 36th best album of the 1970s. Anne E. Neu Brindley is an American politician who served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2017 to 2024. Gisella Neu (April 25, 1908 – December 22, 1989), later Gisella Neu-Fishler, was an American violinist, born in Austria-Hungary. Early life and education Neu was born in Konskau in Austria-Hungary (now Konská, part of Třinec in the Czech Republic). She was sometimes described as Hungarian. She studied at the Budapest Conservatory of Music, and in the United States with A. H. Trouk. Career Neu performed in Budapest, Vienna, and Havana as a child. She performed in New York City for several years, between spring 1925 and 1930. She was also heard on radio programs in this period.
