Nepal Army Football Club (formally known as Tribhuvan Army Club) is a Nepali professional football club from Kathmandu, that competes in the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League. It is the section of the Nepal Army Club. The departmental army team under the name of Army XI won four national league titles until 1958. The club start to participat regularly in Durand Cup, India since in 2023 as a guest/invitee club. Dasharath Rangasala
Dasharath Rangasala ( ; ) is a multi-purpose stadium in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu. It is named after Dasharath Chand, one of the four great martyrs of Nepal. The stadium is used mostly for football matches and cultural programmes. The stadium has also been the only host of the inaugural 2021 Nepal Super League season. History The stadium was built in 1956. It was built over a large lotus pond. On 13 March 1988, the 1988 Kathmandu stadium disaster occurred. About 30,000 people were present in the stadium to watch a match between two clubs from Nepal and Bangladesh when a hailstorm broke out, causing a stampede as the supporters rushed to locked exits to escape the hailstorm. According to reports, about 93 people died in the stampede, including two police officers and a 12-year-old child. More than 100 people were hospitalized with injuries. The 2019–20 ''Martyr's Memorial'' A-Division League () season, also known as the Qatar Airways ''Martyr's Memorial'' A-Division League for sponsorship reasons, was the 43rd edition of the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League since its establishment in 1954-55. A total of 18 teams competed in this edition of the league, which began on 14 December 2019 and concluded on 15 February 2020. Manang Marshyangdi Club were the defending champions. Machhindra Football Club were crowned league winners for the first time in the club's history on the last day of the league, after defeating Nepal Army Club 1–0. Shillong Lajong Football Club (founded as Lajong SC) is an Indian professional Association football, football club based in Shillong, Meghalaya. The club is currently competing in the I-League, the second tier of the Indian football league system, following Promotion and relegation, promotion from the 2022–23 I-League 2. Shillong Lajong also takes part in regional competitions. 2024 Durand Cup Group Stage
The 2024 IndianOil Durand Cup group stage will be played from July to 31 August 2024. A total of 24 teams, consisting 13 ISL clubs, 2 I-League clubs, 2 regional league team, 6 Indian Armed Forces teams and 1 Foreign armed force teams, compete in the group stage to decide the 8 places in the knockout stage. Format In the group stage, each group is played on a single round-robin format. The table-toppers from each group & two best second-placed teams from group stage advances to the knockout stage. Tiebreakers The teams are ranked according to points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss). The 2024 Durand Cup (also known as IndianOil Durand Cup due to sponsorship ties with the Indian Oil Corporation) was the 133rd edition of Durand Cup, the oldest football tournament in Asia, and the third edition since it was supported by the Asian Football Confederation. The tournament is hosted by the Durand Football Tournament Society in co-operation with the AIFF, Eastern Command of the Indian Armed Forces and the Government of West Bengal, supported by the governments Assam and Meghalaya.
