Dasharath Rangasala
Dasharath Rangasala ( ; ) is a multi-purpose stadium in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu. It is named after Dasharath Chand, one of the four great martyrs of Nepal. The stadium is used mostly for football matches and cultural programmes. The stadium has also been the only host of the inaugural 2021 Nepal Super League season. History The stadium was built in 1956. It was built over a large lotus pond. On 13 March 1988, the 1988 Kathmandu stadium disaster occurred. About 30,000 people were present in the stadium to watch a match between two clubs from Nepal and Bangladesh when a hailstorm broke out, causing a stampede as the supporters rushed to locked exits to escape the hailstorm. According to reports, about 93 people died in the stampede, including two police officers and a 12-year-old child. More than 100 people were hospitalized with injuries. Nepal Women's National Football Team
The Nepal women's national football team is controlled by the All Nepal Football Association and represents Nepal in international women's football competitions. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) (Nepali language, Nepali: अखिल नेपाल फुटबल संघ (एन्फा)) is the governing body of football in Nepal. 2022 SAFF Women's Championship
The 2022 SAFF Women's Championship was the 6th edition of the SAFF Women's Championship, the international women's football championship contested by the national teams of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). The tournament was played from 6–19 September 2022 in Kathmandu, Nepal. In the final, Bangladesh played Nepal on 19 September 2022 at the Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu. Bangladesh won the final match 3–1, claiming their first SAFF title. Bangladeshi player Sabina Khatun was the tournament's best player, winning the Most Valuable Player award. 2019 South Asian Games
The 2019 South Asian Games, officially the XIII South Asian Games, was a major multi-sport event which was originally slated to be held from 9 to 18 March 2019 in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal. However, the dates were postponed and the event was held from 1–10 December 2019, coincidentally at the same time as the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. The new dates were confirmed at the South Asian Olympic Council Executive Board meeting in Bangkok on 1 March 2019.
