Neon Bible
''Neon Bible'' is the second studio album by Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire. It was first released on March 5, 2007, in Europe and a day later in North America by Merge Records. Originally announced on December 16, 2006, through the band's website, the majority of the album was recorded at a church the band bought and renovated in Farnham, Quebec. The album is the first to feature drummer Jeremy Gara, and the first to include violinist Sarah Neufeld among the band's core line-up. ''Neon Bible'' became Arcade Fire's highest-charting album at the time, debuting on the ''Billboard'' 200 at number two, selling 92,000 copies in its first week and more than 400,000 to date. Arcade Fire
Arcade Fire is a Canadian indie rock band from Montreal, Quebec, consisting of husband and wife Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, alongside Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury, and Jeremy Gara. The band's touring line-up includes former core member Sarah Neufeld and multi-instrumentalists Paul Beaubrun and Dan Boeckner. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand in the early to mid-1980s. Although the term was originally used to describe rock music released through independent record labels, by the 1990s it became more widely associated with the music such bands produced. The sound of indie rock has its origins in the New Zealand Dunedin sound of the Chills, Tall Dwarfs, the Clean and the Verlaines, and early 1980s college rock radio stations who would frequently play jangle pop bands like the Smiths and R.E.M. Michael Pärt (, born 17 August 1977) is an Estonian music producer and music editor. Since 2010 he is chairman of the board of the Arvo Pärt Centre. He also owns the music editing company Michael Pärt Musik. Biography Michael Pärt was born as the younger son of classical composer Arvo Pärt and his wife Nora. In 1980 the family left the Soviet Union for political reasons. Michael Pärt spent his childhood and youth in Austria, Germany, and the United Kingdom before returning to Estonia in 2008. The Hotel2Tango (sometimes referred to as Thee Mighty Hotel2Tango and abbreviated H2T) is a 24-track Analog recording, analogue recording studio situated in the Mile End, Montreal, Mile End district of Montreal, Quebec. ''We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank'' is the fifth studio album by American alternative rock band Modest Mouse, released in 2007. It followed their previous studio album, 2004's ''Good News for People Who Love Bad News''. It is the band's only full-length with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr as well as Joe Plummer as members. It is also their last with founding member and bassist Eric Judy. It has a strong nautical theme and was originally envisioned as a concept album about a boat crew that dies in every song. This album was certified Gold by the RIAA on June 11, 2009. As of February 2015, it has sold 649,000 copies in the US. Modest Mouse is an American rock music, rock band formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington, and currently based in Portland, Oregon. The founding members were lead singer/guitarist Isaac Brock (musician), Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green and bassist Eric Judy. ''Wincing the Night Away'' is the third studio album by the indie rock group The Shins. It was released by Sub Pop Records on January 23, 2007, and is the last album released under The Shins' contract with Sub Pop. The album was recorded in James Mercer's basement studio, Phil Ek's home in Seattle and in Oregon City with the veteran producer Joe Chiccarelli. It was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. Writing and recording Chiccareli had become acquainted with Mercer while working with Pink Martini in Portland, Oregon. The Shins
The Shins are an American indie rock band formed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1996. The band is the project of singer-songwriter James Mercer, who has served as the band's sole constant member throughout numerous line-up changes. The band's current line-up consists of Mercer, alongside Yuuki Matthews (bass, keyboards), Mark Watrous (guitar, keyboards, lap steel), Patti King (keyboards), and Jon Sortland (drums).
