Nazir Ahmed Chowdhury
Nazir Ahmed Chowdhury ( bn, নাজির আহমেদ চৌধুরী), better known as Nazir Junior or Choto Nazir, is a retired Bangladeshi footballer who played as a center-back. He is a member of the first Bangladesh national football team. Early life Nazir Ahmed Chowdhury was born in Sunamganj, East Pakistan (present-day Bangladesh). Alongside football he was also involved with athletics, he was the divisional champion in 400 meters race. In 1964, Nazir started playing in Sunamganj Borthers alongside his school team. In the same year, the Sunamganj Government School won the title in inter-departmental games, and Nazir was called up to the Sunamganj Division Team, however, he played for them the following year as he was still a student at the time. Sunamganj District
Sunamganj ( bn, সুনামগঞ্জ) is a district located in north-eastern Bangladesh within the Sylhet Division. History In the ancient period, Sunamganj was part of the Laur Kingdom. After the conquest of Sylhet (Kingdom of Gauiurh) in 1303 by Muslims under the spiritual guidance of Shah Jalal, Shah Kamal Quhafah established a capital in Shaharpara with the aid of his twelve disciples and his second son, Shah Muazzamuddin Qureshi, who also maintained a second sub-administration office at Nizgaon on the bank of the river Surma, present day Shologhar (there is now Shologhar Masjid and madrasa) in Sunamganj town, which was administered by one of his descendants. Dhaka Senior Division Football League, also referred as First Division Football League, is the third tier of football league in Bangladesh. Until 2006, it was the top-tier league of the country. It was established in 1948 as Dhaka League, while Bangladesh was still under Pakistani control. Upon the creation of the new national top-tier professional league B. Merdeka Tournament or Pestabola Merdeka is a friendly football tournament held in Malaysia to commemorate the Independence Day. The competition bears the Malay word for independence. As of 2022, it has been held 40 times, and decreasingly in recent decades. Matches in Merdeka tournament considered International "A" matches (Friendly match) by FIFA. Its final has been mainly held at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur. Sheikh Shaheb Ali
Sheikh Shaheb Ali ( bn, শেখ সাহেব আলী; 1 July 1917 – 1 June 2004) was a former Bangladeshi football player and manager. He is the only East Pakistani to have both played for and managed the Pakistan national football team. He is also the first head coach of the Bangladesh national football team, guiding them at the 1973 Merdeka Cup. He holds the record of coaching Bangladesh to their first ever win in international football. Playing career Sheikh Shaheb Ali was born in Matuail area of Dhaka, on 1 July 1917.
