Nayyab Ali is a Pakistani human rights defender, transgender activist and social scientist with ten years of experience in working on gender equality, livelihoods and economic empowerment. As an independent consultant, she has been associated with UN agencies to advocate transgender rights. Okara (Punjabi, ur, ), is the capital city of Okara District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. The name Okara is derived from ''Okaan'', which is the name of a type of tree.
