Nawroz Mangal
Nawroz Mangal (born Nawroz Khan Mangal) (نوروز خان منګل; born 28 November 1984) is a former cricketer from Afghanistan. Mangal is a former captain of the Afghanistan national cricket team who is known for leading Afghanistan to the prestigious ODI status. In January 2017, he retired from international cricket and became the national chief selector for Afghanistan. Early career Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, Mangal spent much of his early years in refugee camps in neighbouring Pakistan with his family, after fleeing the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and the subsequent Civil War that followed the Soviet withdrawal. It was in the camps that Mangal, like many of his teammates, was introduced to cricket. The war in Afghanistan saw the US Army put an end to Taliban rule of Afghanistan in 2001 and Mangal returned to the country soon after. Logar Province
Logar (Pashto/Dari: لوگر) is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan, located in the eastern section of the country. It is divided into 7 districts and contains hundreds of villages. Puli Alam is the capital of the province. As of 2021, Logar has a population of approximately 442,037 people, most of whom are ethnic Pashtuns and Tajiks. World Cricket League
The ICC World Cricket League (WCL) was a series of international one-day cricket tournaments for national teams without Test status (i.e., teams of Associate status) administered by the International Cricket Council. All Associate Members of the ICC were eligible to compete in the league system, which featured a promotion and relegation structure between divisions. The league system had two main aims: to provide a qualification system for the Cricket World Cup that could be accessed by all Associate Members and as an opportunity for these sides to play international one-day matches against teams of similar standards. Lower Dir District
Lower Dir District (, ) is a district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Timergara is the district's headquarters and largest city. Oman National Cricket Team
The Oman men's national cricket team is the team that represents the country of Oman in international matches and is governed by Oman Cricket, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2000, and gained associate status in 2014. The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket competition in Pakistan. With few exceptions, it has been staged annually since it was first played during the 1953–54 season. Taj Malik ''(''; born 1975) is an Afghan former cricketer and coach. He was a right-handed batsman and leg break bowler who played for Afghanistan. He got interest in cricket at Kacha Gari camp during England's 1987 tour of Pakistan.
