2004 ACC Trophy
The 2004 ACC Trophy was a cricket tournament in Malaysia, taking place between 12 and 24 June 2004. It gave Associate and Affiliate members of the Asian Cricket Council experience of international one-day cricket and also helps forms an essential part of regional rankings. Asian Cricket Council
The Asian Cricket Council also known as ACC is a cricket organisation which was established in 1983, to promote and develop the sport of cricket in Asia. Subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently consists of 26 member associations. Jay Shah is the current president of Asian Cricket Council. History The council was formed as the Asian Cricket Conference in New Delhi, India, on 19 September 1983, with the original members being Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. Samiur Rahman (3 December 1953 – 19 April 2022) was a Bangladeshi cricketer and umpire. He played for Bangladesh in its first-ever One Day International (ODI) game against Pakistan at Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 1986 Asia Cup. He played in total two ODIs. Apart from being a new ball swing bowler, he was also a useful lower order batsman. Mohammad Tauqir ( ar, توقير محمد; born 14 January 1972) is an Emirati cricketer. He is a UAE national. He is a lower order batsman and off-spin bowler, he played his first game for UAE in the final of 1996 ACC Trophy (batting at 11 and not bowling). He has been part of the UAE team in the last three ICC Trophys and last six ACC Trophys. His best bowling performance came against Japan with 6–10 off 10 overs in the 2000 ACC Trophy.
