National Television Award (Spain)
The National Television Award () is one of Spain's annual National Awards awarded by the Ministry of Culture and Sport (Spain), Ministry of Culture. Established in 2009, it recognizes and rewards the work of the entirety of an individual's professional life, or outstanding contributions in the television field. It is endowed with a monetary prize of 30,000 euros. Candidates for the award are presented by the members of a jury, or by entities related to the television activities, through reasoned proposals addressed to the Ministry of Culture or to the jurors themselves. Paloma del Río Cañadas (born 4 April 1960) is a Spanish journalist. She covers rhythmic gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, figure skating, and equestrian competitions for Televisión Española (TVE). She has held various positions in TVE's sports directorate – editor-in-chief (2009), director of sports programs (2009–2013), and currently coordinator of sponsorships and federations. She has covered several European and World Championships, as well as eight Summer and six Winter Olympic Games. In 2015 she was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Order of Sports Merit, and that same year, she published her autobiographical book ''Enredando en la memoria'' (''Tangled in Memory''). Victoria Prego de Oliver y Tolivar (11 November 1948 – 1 May 2024) was a Spanish journalist who was president of the Madrid Press Association between 2015 and 2019. Victoria Prego was born on 11 November 1948 in Madrid and began her career at Televisión Española (TVE) in the international information section in 1974. By 1976, she headed the department.
