The National Election Committee (NEC; , , ''KChB'') is an independent agency that supervises the national elections of Cambodia. Norodom Boulevard
Norodom Boulevard (), also called Street 41 (), is a major boulevard in Cambodia and one of Phnom Penh's oldest arterial roads. It was named after King Norodom. It connects with Monivong Bridge in the south-east of the city at the Bassac River and joins with the north of the city at Wat Phnom. Cambodia is a one-party dominant state with the Cambodian People's Party in power. Cambodia's legislature is chosen through a national election. The general election is held every five years in the fourth Sunday of July. The Parliament of Cambodia has two chambers. Cambodian People's Party
The Cambodian People's Party (CPP; , UNGEGN: ) is a Cambodian political party which has ruled the country since 1979. Founded in 1951, it was originally known as the Kampuchean People's Revolutionary Party (KPRP). During the Cold War it allied itself with Vietnam and the Soviet Union, in contrast to the pro-Chinese Communist Party of Kampuchea led by Pol Pot. After toppling the Khmer Rouge's Democratic Kampuchea regime with the Vietnamese-backed liberation of Phnom Penh, it became the ruling party of the People's Republic of Kampuchea (1979–1989), which was later renamed the State of Cambodia (1989–1991). Rong Chhun
Rong Chhun (born 1969 in Talon, Kandal) is a Cambodian trade unionist and political activist. He is the president of the Cambodian Confederation of Unions and has been imprisoned several times for his work. Biography Chhun was born in Talon commune, Kandal Province, in 1969, as the fourth of five siblings. In 1993, he graduated from the Royal University of Phnom Penh with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He then began teaching at a high school in Talon. He formed the Cambodian Independent Teachers' Association (CITA) in March 2000, together with more than 30 other teachers, to organise for better pay and more rights. Chhun was detained on October 15, 2005, in Banteay Meanchey Province.
