Naim Sheikh
Mohammad Naim Sheikh (born 22 August 1999) is a Bangladeshi cricketer. He made his international debut for the Bangladesh cricket team in November 2019. Domestic career Naim made his List A debut for Legends of Rupganj in the 2017–18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on 22 February 2018. Prior to his List A debut, he was part of Bangladesh's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Naim made his first-class debut for Dhaka Metropolis in the 2018–19 National Cricket League on 15 October 2018. Naim was the leading run-scorer for Legends of Rupganj in the 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League tournament, with 807 runs in 16 matches. Faridpur is a city located in southern Bangladesh. It is the largest municipality in Dhaka Division in the city proper. The Bangladesh Premier League 2022, also known as BPL Season 8 or Bangabandhu BPL 2022 (for sponsorship reasons), was the eighth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the top-level professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh, organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The Dhaka Capitals is a professional franchise cricket team that plays in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). They represent Dhaka Division. The team plays their home matches at the SBNCS. Dhaka is one of the most successful BPL franchises, having won three BPL titles in the BPL, it has appeared in 5 finals and qualified for the playoff stages 7 times, the most amongst the BPL teams. Twenty20 (abbreviated T20) is a shortened format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the county cricket, inter-county competition. The 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League was an edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a List A cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. It was the sixth edition of the tournament with List A status, although almost 35 seasons have been played before achieving the status. It started on 8 March, and concluded on 23 April 2019. Directly before the List A tournament started, the inaugural edition of the 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League took place, featuring the same twelve teams. 2018–19 National Cricket League
The 2018–19 National Cricket League was the twentieth edition of the National Cricket League (NCL), a first-class cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. The tournament started on 1 October 2018, with eight teams placed into two tiers. Khulna Division were the defending champions. The opening round of matches saw a total of thirteen centuries made by twelve different batsman, the first time this had happened at the start of a cricket tournament in Bangladesh. Round four of the tournament produced the two narrowest victories in the history of the NCL, with Sylhet Division winning their match against Dhaka Metropolis by three runs, and Rangpur Division beating Barisal Division by five runs. Dhaka Metropolis Cricket Team
The Dhaka Metropolis cricket team is a Bangladeshi first-class cricket team based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The team competes in the National Cricket League. Dhaka Metropolis played in the 2000–01 season, playing most of its home games at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. When the National Cricket League was expanded from six teams to eight in 2011–12, Dhaka Metropolis returned, along with the newly formed Rangpur Division team. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is of three or more days scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but the term was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament held in New Zealand from 13 January till 3 February 2018. It was the twelfth edition of the U19 World Cup, and the third to be held in New Zealand after the 2002 and the 2010 events. New Zealand became the first country to host the event thrice.
