NPO Nieuws
NPO Nieuws was a 24-hour news channel operated by the NOS, the public broadcaster which supplies news and sports to all national public television and radio networks. NOS also provides programming for the political channel, NPO Politiek en Nieuws. The channel started broadcasting on NOS's website on 1 December 2004. NPO Nieuws broadcasts all editions of the NOS Journaal news bulletin, and repeats the last news broadcast. NPO Nieuws also showed four extra programmes named NOS Journaal Chat, NOS Journaal Plus (extra information), NOS Journaal Reportages and NOS Journaal Weekoverzicht. A half-hourly version (15 minutes plus another 15 minute repeat) of the youth-oriented news programme NOS Jeugdjournaal also aired every day on NPO Nieuws. In addition to these programmes, weather bulletins and updates from NOS Teletekst page 101 were also shown. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for Digitization, digitizing 625 lines, 625 line Analog television, analogue television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy colour encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL#PAL region, PAL, PAL/SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. Teletext
Teletext, or broadcast teletext, is a standard for displaying text and rudimentary graphics on suitably equipped television sets. Teletext sends data in the broadcast signal, hidden in the invisible vertical blanking interval area at the top and bottom of the screen. The teletext decoder in the television buffers this information as a series of "pages", each given a number. The user can display chosen pages using their remote control. In broad terms, it can be considered as Videotex, a system for the delivery of information to a user in a computer-like format, typically displayed on a television or a dumb terminal, but that designation is usually reserved for systems that provide bi-directional communication, such as Prestel or Minitel. Jeugdjournaal
(; "Youth News Programme") is a Dutch television Children's news program, news programme produced by the Dutch public service broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting, NOS for children. The programme has been on air since 1981. The main evening programme airs at 7:00 pm (Central European Time, CET), running for 20 minutes every night on NPO 3 (formerly Nederland 3). A 5-minute short version also airs on weekdays at 8:45 am. Both programmes are also broadcast on the international satellite Dutch-language television station BVN. The aim of ''Jeugdjournaal'' was to present news that is both of interest to and within the mindset of a younger audience, without shying away from the main national and international news headlines. NOS Journaal
NOS Journaal is the umbrella name for the news broadcasts of the Dutch public broadcaster NOS on radio and television. The division of the NOS responsible for gathering and broadcasting the news is known as ''NOS Nieuws'', and is based at the Media Park in Hilversum; the NOS also has fully equipped radio and television studios in The Hague, from which political programmes are often produced. History On 5 January 1956, the Nederlandse Televise Stichting (Dutch Television Foundation, the forerunner of the NOS) broadcast the first ''NTS-journaal'' bulletin, created under the influence of Jan-Willem Rengelink.
