NICEIC is one of several organisations which assesses the competence of businesses undertaking electrical work in the UK. NICEIC is one of several providers given Government approval to offer Competent Person Schemes in England and Wales to oversee electrical work within the scope of Part P of the Building Regulations. NICEIC also run certification schemes for plumbing, heating, renewables business as well as MCS and PAS certification schemes and has circa 38,000 businesses certified on its schemes, as well as being a leading industry training provider for electrical, gas, plumbing, heating, renewables qualifications. Electrical Safety First
Electrical Safety First (formerly the Electrical Safety Council, or ESC) is a registered UK charity working with all sectors of the electrical industry as well as local and central government to reduce deaths and injuries caused by electrical accidents. Research shows that every year 2.5 million adults get an electric shock in their homes or garden, any of which could have caused injury or death. In 2007, according to government statistics, there were 19 deaths and 2,788 injuries caused by electric shocks. In addition, electricity is now the major cause of accidental domestic fires in UK homes with over 21,000 in 2007. In that same year there were 49 deaths and 3,477 injuries. Houghton Regis is a market town and civil parish in Bedfordshire, East of England. The parish is located in Central Bedfordshire, which includes the hamlets of Bidwell, Thorn, and Sewell. SELECT (Electrical Contractors' Association Of Scotland)
SELECT, founded in 1900 as the Electrical Contractors' Association of Scotland, is the Scottish construction trade association for specialist businesses in the electrical industry. With the Unite the Union, SELECT established the Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust (SECTT), a not-for-profit organisation concerned with training apprentices within the SJIB Apprenticeship Scheme, the only industry-approved training scheme for electrical contracting apprenticeships in Scotland. Gas Safe Register
Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey, appointed by the relevant Health and Safety Authority for each area. By law all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register. Gas Safe Register replaced CORGI as the gas registration body in Great Britain and Isle of Man on 1 April 2009 and Northern Ireland and Guernsey on 1 April 2010. The purpose of the Gas Safe Register is to protect the public from unsafe gas work.
