''Muérdete La Lengua'' (''Bite Your Tongue'') is the debut album by American-born Chilean singer, songwriter and composer Francisca Valenzuela. The album was released on June 30, 2007 in Chile for Feria Music Records. The album's first single was "Peces" (''Fishes'') and was released in 2006. Though "Peces" did not chart, it gained Valenzuela radio play and popularity in Chile. The second and lead single of the album was "Dulce" (''Sweet''). Rolling Stone Chile included the album as number 16 in its "50 Best CDs of 2007" in an international list. In early 2008, the album was certified gold in Chile. Francisca Valenzuela
Francisca Valenzuela (; born March 17, 1987, in San Francisco, California) is an American-born Chilean singer, poet, and multi-instrumentalist. Valenzuela was born and raised in San Francisco, California, where she resided until the age of 12, before moving to Santiago, Chile. She gained popularity in Chile and Latin America following the release of her debut album, ''Muérdete La Lengua'', in June 2007. Her second album, ''Buen Soldado'', followed in March 2011. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Los Bunkers
Los Bunkers (Spanish for ''The Bunkers'') is an alternative rock band from Concepción, Chile, formed in 1999 by brothers Álvaro and Gonzalo López, Mauricio Basualto, and brothers Francisco and Mauricio Durán. They are well known in their country for their contemporary sounds of rock, based on sounds of the 1960s, from bands like The Beatles, and also including sounds from their folk roots. The band name is essentially a play on words that at the simplest level recalls Chilean rock groups of the 1960s like Los Jokers and Los Sonnys. ''Buen Soldado'' (''Good Soldier'' in English) is the second studio album by Chilean-American singer-songwriter Francisca Valenzuela. Feria Music released it on March 3, 2011 in Chile. The bilingual artist achieved success in both North and South America with her debut album, 2007's Muérdete la Lengua. She wrote and recorded the album while taking a gap year from her collegiate studies in Santiago. Spanglish (a blend of the words "Spanish" and "English") is any language variety (such as a contact dialect, hybrid language, pidgin, or creole language) that results from conversationally combining Spanish and English. Jorge González (musician)
Jorge Humberto González Ríos (born 6 December 1964) is a Chilean singer-songwriter and producer, best known for being the leader, vocalist, songwriter and bass player of the post-punk band Los Prisioneros, considered by some to be among the most important Latin American bands of all time. González rose to fame in the early 1980s when he formed Los Prisioneros with friends Claudio Narea and Miguel Tapia. The band quickly gained popularity for their socially conscious lyrics and energetic performances, blending punk, new wave, ska and pop influences, with the band becoming a symbol of resistance during Chile's military dictatorship.
