Mutsindozi River
The Mutsindozi River () is a river in southeastern Burundi, a tributary of the Malagarasi River. Course The Mutsindozi River forms to the north of Muyaga on the border between Makamba Province to the south and Rutana Province to the north. It flows east, defining this border, to its junction with the Malagarasi River on the border between Burundi and Tanzania. The river is in the Mosso-Malagarazi depression, which has forest galleries in wooded fringes along the watercourses. Environment The surroundings of the Mutsindozi River are mainly savannah forest. The area is quite densely populated, with 80 inhabitants per square kilometer as of 2016. The average annual temperature in the area is . Malagarasi River
The Malagarasi River is a river in western Tanzania, flowing through Kigoma Region, although one of its tributaries comes from southeastern Burundi. The river also forms the western border of Tabora Region, the southern border of Kagera Region and the southwestern border of Geita Region. Makamba Province
Makamba Province is the southernmost province of Burundi. The province has a population of 430,899 (2008 census) and covers an area of 1,960 km. The provincial capital is Makamba. Makamba has six communes, many refugees have returned from Tanzania to this province, especially to the communes of Kayogoro, Nyanza lac, Mabanda and Vugizo. Rutana Province is one of the 18 provinces of Burundi. It contains the Kagera waterfalls, and the Nyakazu Fault. Location Rutana Province is in the southeast of Burundi and borders Tanzania to the east. Makamba Province is to the south, Bururi Province and Gitega Province to the west and Ruyigi Province to the north. SOSUMO () is a company that grows and refines sugar in Burundi. Location The company operates in the Rutana Province in the southeast of Burundi. This is in the Moso natural region of Burundi. The area is fed by the Muyovozi River, Mutsindozi River and Maragarazi River on the border with Tanzania. The complex is fed by the Mutsindozi River. The Natural regions of Burundi () are geographical subdivisions of Burundi that date to colonial times. They can be broadly grouped into the Plain zone in the west beside Lake Tanganyika and the East African Rift valley, the Congo-Nile ridge, the Central Plateaus and the Depressions to the north, east and south of the plateaus.
