Movie Digest Show
''Movie Digest Show'' was Uganda's first movie review television program that aired every Tuesday at 8:30 pm. The first season of the program originally aired on Record TV Network. The second premiered July 2013. Hosts Actresses Monica Birwinyo and Irene Asumpta and former Tusker Project Fame 3 contestant Jacob Nsaali were the original hosts of the show from March 4, 2012 until December 10, 2012 on Record TV. It was announced that screenwriter and film director Usama Mukwaya would replace Jacob in May 2013 with the second season airing soon. Usama () "Osam" Nyanzi Mukwaya (born 12 December 1989) is a Ugandan screenwriter, film director, producer, actor and former television host. His major films include ''Bala Bala Sese'', directed by Lukyamuzi Bashir with which Mukwaya is credited as the film's writer and producer. The film was nominated at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards for Best Film in an African Language. He launched his filmmaking career with the short film ''Hello'' that won overall best film in the 2010 MNFPAC Students Awards. His directorial debut is '' Love Faces'' which was released in January 2018. From 2018-2022, Usama served as chief content officer for Stream Afrique, a subscription-based streaming platform which offers online streaming of majorly African content. She is best known for the Debut film '' The Passenger'' that won best indigenous film as the Uganda Film Festival Awards(UFF). The film also received two nominations at Amvca Awards. The show is similar to American Idol and Project Fame South Africa, musicians compete to win cash and a one-year record deal with Universal Music Group South Africa. ''Hand in Hand'' is a Ugandan soap opera created to promote vocational training and the field of craftsmanship in the country. The first series was launched in October 2005 and ran until December of the same year. The show was produced by Great Lakes Film Production with funding from the Ugandan Ministry of Education and Sports and the German State Development Bank ('' Kreditanstalt für die Wiederaufbau''). Other sponsors include Coca-Cola, Uganda Telecom and the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ). The show is performed by an ensemble cast made up of exclusively Ugandan actors.
