Movia (transit Agency)
Trafikselskabet Movia is the public transport agency that is responsible for buses and certain local railways in Copenhagen and the part of Denmark east of the Great Belt. Its remit covers the regions Region Sjælland, Sjælland and Region Hovedstaden, Hovedstaden, except for Bornholm. The company is owned by the two regions and by the 45 municipalities it services, excluding Bornholm. It does not own any buses and trains itself, but pays subcontractors to run them. It is a part owner of train company Lokaltog, and has an integrated fare system in collaboration with the Copenhagen metro and Danske Statsbaner, DSB, which means that the same tickets are valid on all buses and trains. History Movia was created on January 1, 2007, as part of the 2007 municipal reform. Vestsjællands Amt
West Zealand County () is a former county ( Danish: '' amt'') in the west-central part of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The county was formed on 1 April 1970, comprising a few former counties. The county was abolished effective January 1, 2007, when it merged into Region Sjælland (i.e. ''Region Zealand''). The county was responsible for public hospitals, upper secondary schools and schools for Higher Preparatory Examination, public transport and social welfare for the disabled. Transport In Copenhagen
Transport in Copenhagen and the surrounding area relies on a well-established infrastructure making it a hub in Northern Europe due to its road and rail networks as well as its international airport. Copenhagen Harbour Buses
The Copenhagen Harbour Buses ( Danish: Københavns Havnebusser) is a system of water buses along the harbourfront of Copenhagen, Denmark, operated by Movia which also operates the city’s regular buses. The system is notable for being all-electric, using battery-powered equipment which charge at night. There is also replenishment at station stops during the day. There are seven harbor buses, all belonging to the transport company Arriva, which were delivered from Damen Shipyards Kozle in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Poland in 2020. Six of them are used in daily operations, but the seventh is a reserve. The Harbour Buses are integrated into the Copenhagen public transport system with the same payment system as buses, Metro or DSB trains. CityCirkel was a one-way circular bus route operated by electrical buses in Copenhagen, Denmark, from June 12, 2009, to October 24, 2010. The line was designated route 11, run by Movia and was part of the public transport infrastructure in the greater Copenhagen. The buses are small, with around seven seats, and battery operated. Rejsekort (Official translation: '' Travel card'') is an electronic ticket system for public transport in Denmark. The system is a collaborative work between DSB, HUR, Ørestadsselskabet, and various regional bus companies, and work on it started on August 18, 2003. In June 2005, Thales Group and Accenture were chosen as suppliers. The total cost of the system will be between €200 and €270 million. Overview The system has replaced the old zone ticket system. Instead, fares are calculated from the distance made from the beginning of the journey to the end, as the crow flies, so as to give a better correlation between price and distance travelled. Frederiksberg
Frederiksberg () is a part of the Capital Region of Denmark. It is an independent municipality, Frederiksberg Municipality, separate from Copenhagen Municipality, but both are a part of the region of Copenhagen. It occupies an area of less than 9 km2 and had a population of 103,192 in 2015. It is the most densely populated municipality in denmark.
