Moschino () is an Italian Luxury goods, luxury fashion house founded in 1983 by Franco Moschino in Milan known for over-the-top, Camp (style), campy designs. The company specializes in ready-to-wear, handbags, and fashion accessories. Moschino's creative director is Adrian Appiolaza. History Founding and 1990s Franco Moschino was born on 27 February 1950 and raised in Abbiategrasso, Italy. Franco Moschino (27 February 1950 – 18 September 1994) was an Italian fashion designer who founded eponymous luxury Italian fashion house Moschino. Early years Moschino was born in Abbiategrasso, Lombardy, located c. 22 km from Milan. Moschino's family owned an iron foundry that his father hoped he would work. However, Moschino was interested in fine art and aspired to be a painter. In 1968, he ran away from home to Milan where he enrolled at the Brera Academy. To finance his studies, he worked as a freelance fashion illustrator for fashion houses and magazines. The experience prompted Moschino to switch his focus to fashion and drop out from the academy to study at the Marangoni Institute. After completing his schooling in 1971, Moschino became an illustrator for Gianni Versace, and continued to work for him for another six years. Rossella Jardini (born 1952 in Bergamo), is an Italian fashion designer and businessperson who from 1994 to 2013 worked as Creative Director for Moschino following the death of Franco Moschino. In January 2014 she took up a new role as consultant for Missoni. Jardini had worked with Nicola Trussardi and Bottega Veneta before joining Moschino full-time in 1983. Following Moschino's death, she supervised the fashion house's output and designs, although did not design herself.
