The Montenegrin Second League (Montenegrin language, Montenegrin: ''Druga crnogorska fudbalska liga'' – ''Druga CFL'' – ''2. CFL'') is the second-top Association football, football league in Montenegro. It is headed by the Football Association of Montenegro. Second Montenegrin League consists of 10 participants. The top team qualifies for the First League of Montenegro, the second and third one contest in a playoff match against the 8th and 9th team from the First League, while the bottom-placed two teams are relegated to any of the three Montenegrin Third League, third-tier leagues, to be replaced by the two winners of a three-way promotion playoffs, contested by the winners of the three Third League divisions. FK Jezero
FK Jezero is a Montenegrin professional football club based in the town of Plav. Established at 1934, the club plays in the First League of Montenegro. History After World War II, the first football club in the town of Plav is founded. Officially, foundation year of FK Jezero (''FC Lake'') was in 1934. Club is named after the Lake Plav, on whose shore is built the town of Plav. First significant success, FK Jezero made in the 1968–69 season. They won the title of the Montenegrin Fourth League - North champion and gained promotion to the Montenegrin Republic League. After one season, they were relegated. Montenegrin First League Playoffs
The Montenegrin First League playoffs is a two legs tournament between the teams from Montenegrin First League just above direct relegation, and the teams from Montenegrin Second League just below direct promotion. Format At the end of each season, 8th and 9th placed teams from the Montenegrin First League play against the 2nd and 3rd placed teams from the Montenegrin Second League. The winners play the next season in the First League, while losers are members of next edition of the Second League. In every playoffs, matches are played over two legs - the 8th placed team from First League against the 3rd placed team from Second League, and the 9th placed team from First League against the 2nd placed team from Second League. FK Ibar
FK Ibar is a football club from Rožaje, Montenegro. They currently compete in the Montenegrin Third League. FK Ibar is a part of the Ibar sport society from Rožaje. The club is named after the river Ibar, longest river from Montenegro, which originates in Rožaje. Founded in 1938, FK Ibar is the oldest sports club from Rožaje. Montenegrin Republic League
Montenegrin Republic League () was the third tier football league of SFR Yugoslavia. The top clubs were promoted to Yugoslav Second League. Overview Founded in spring 1946, Montenegrin Republic League was the oldest football competition in Montenegro after WWII. It existed 60 years, and most of the time it was the third tier of competition (after First League and Second League). In inaugural season (1946) in Montenegrin Republic League played only four clubs – FK Budućnost, FK Lovćen, FK Sutjeska and FK Arsenal. 2005–06 Montenegrin First League
The 2005–06 Montenegrin First League was the last edition of the tournament as the second-highest division. Due to the dissolution of the state union between Serbia and Montenegro in June 2006, the Montenegrin First League became the top division of Montenegro from the 2006–07 season. Background In the previous season, Jedinstvo won the league by 10 points over Kom and were promoted to the SuperLiga. They were replaced by Sutjeska who were relegated from the First League. Montenegrin Independence Referendum, 2006
An independence referendum was held in Montenegro on 21 May 2006. It was approved by 55.5% of voters, narrowly passing the 55% threshold. By 23 May, preliminary referendum results were recognized by all five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, suggesting widespread international recognition if Montenegro were to become formally independent. On 31 May the referendum commission officially confirmed the results of the referendum, verifying that 55.5% of valid votes were in favor of independence. Because voters met the controversial threshold requirement of 55% approval, the referendum was incorporated into a declaration of independence during a special parliamentary session on 31 May. OFK Titograd
OFK Titograd ( Montenegrin Cyrillic: ОФК Титоград) is a professional football club based in Podgorica, Montenegro. Founded in 1951, they play in the Third League of Montenegro. The team has one league trophy and two Montenegrin Cup trophies. OFK Titograd is a member of the European Club Association. History OFK Titograd was formed in 1951 as FK Mladost. Ten years later, the team changed their name to OFK Titograd, which was the name of Podgorica from 1946 until 1992. The club renamed themselves back to Mladost in 1992.
