Monitors (DC Comics)
The Monitors are a group of fictional comic book characters, who appear in books published by DC Comics. They are based on the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor, two characters created by comic book writer Marv Wolfman and comic artist George Pérez as the main characters of DC Comics' ''Crisis on Infinite Earths'' limited series. They are a group that watches all aspects of the Multiverse, past and present. Most importantly, they seek to prevent crossovers between the universes, as was common before "The Crisis". The Monitors first appeared in ''Brave New World''. They are in some respects similar to the Watchers of the Marvel Universe, though they take a more active role as opposed to simply observing. Ariel Olivetti
Ariel Olivetti (born November 15, 1967) is an Argentina, Argentine comic book penciller best known for his work on United States, American comic book titles such as ''Daredevil (Marvel Comics series), Daredevil'', ''X-Man'', ''Space Ghost'' and ''Punisher War Journal''. Career Olivetti studied Graphic Design in college and first had his work published in the Argentine magazine ''Fierro''. His first work in USA was 1995's ''The Last Avengers (comics), Avengers Story'', which was written by Peter David and published by Marvel Comics. He went on to have a brief stint as regular penciller on Marvel's ''Daredevil'' between 1997 and 1998, where he worked with writer Joe Kelly (comics), Joe Kelly. Giraffe
The giraffe is a large Fauna of Africa, African even-toed ungulate, hoofed mammal belonging to the genus ''Giraffa.'' World War III (DC Comics)
"World War III" is the title of two comic book sagas published by DC Comics and involving many of the superheroes of the DC Universe. The first was published in 2000 as a story-arc in the '' JLA'' ongoing series; the second was published in 2007 as a limited series of its own. Monarch (comics)
Monarch is the name of three fictional DC Comics supervillains. The first Monarch is Hank Hall, formerly Hawk, who later renames himself Extant for the '' Zero Hour: Crisis in Time'' crossover event. The second Monarch is a quantum field duplicate of Nathaniel Adam, a U.S. Air Force Captain. The third Monarch is a mentally unstable Captain Atom. Ion is a fictional character, a DC Comics superhero. ''Countdown'', also known as ''Countdown to Final Crisis'' for its last 24 issues based on the cover, was a comic book Limited series (comics), limited series published by DC Comics. It debuted on May 9, 2007, directly following the conclusion of the last issue of ''52 (comics), 52''. The series is written primarily by Paul Dini, along with a rotating team of writers and artists. ''Countdown'' consists of 51 issues, numbered in reverse and published weekly for one year. The series covers much of the fictional DC Universe, told in parallel narratives through the interconnecting stories of a cast of characters.
