Mohd Firdaus Jaafar
Ustaz Mohd Firdaus Jaafar (born 15 March 1974) is a Malaysian politician of Parti Amanah Negara (AMANAH), a component party of Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He was the Member of Parliament of Malaysia for the Jerai constituency in Kedah for one term from 2008 to 2013. He was a member of Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) before joining AMANAH in 2016. Firdaus was elected to the Jerai seat in the 2008 election, defeating incumbent Badruddin Amiruldin of the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. Prior to the election, Firdaus was a religious teacher (). He was defeated in the 2013 election by BN's Jamil Khir Baharom. Mohd Hayati Othman
Mohd Hayati bin Othman (born 12 June 1957) is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tokai since May 2018. He served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pendang from March 2004 to May 2013. He is a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the PN and formerly Gagasan Sejahtera (GS), Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Barisan Alternatif (BA) coalitions. Hayati was elected to the Pendang seat in the 2004 election with a 50-vote margin. Two years earlier, he had been defeated in a by-election for the seat occasioned by the death of PAS's leader Fadzil Noor. The 2004 victory was a rare win for PAS in an election where it lost 20 of its 27 seats. Hayati then increased his majority in the 2008 election. 2018 Kedah State Election
The 14th Kedah State election was held on 9 May 2018, concurrently with the 2018 Malaysian general election. The previous state election was held on 5 May 2013. The state assemblymen is elected to 5 years term each. The Kedah State Legislative Assembly () is the state legislature of the Malaysian state of Kedah. It is a unicameral institution, consisting of a total of 36 lawmakers representing single-member constituencies throughout the state. Members of the unicameral state legislature are called state assemblymen. The Legislative Assembly building is located at the Wisma Darul Aman in the state capital, Alor Setar.
