Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian ( fa, محمدحسین مهدویان; born 12 May 1981) is an Iranian film director and screenwriter. He's best known for his films ''Standing in the Dust'' (2016), ''Midday Adventures'' (2017), ''Lottery'' (2018), ''Walnut Tree'' (2020) and '' Mortal Wound'' (2021). He won both Best Film and Audience Choice of Best Film for making the film ''Midday Adventures'', making it one of only five films in The history of cinema of Iran to win the latter. Fajr Film Festival
Iran's annual Fajr International Film Festival ( fa, جشنواره بینالمللی فیلم فجر), or Fajr Film Festival (little: FIFF; fa, جشنواره فیلم فجر), has been held every February and April in Tehran since 1982. The festival is supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. It takes place on the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The awards are the Iranian equivalent to the American Academy Awards. The festival has been promoted locally and internationally through television, radio and webinars; speakers have come from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. In photography, a negative is an image, usually on a strip or sheet of transparent plastic film, in which the lightest areas of the photographed subject appear darkest and the darkest areas appear lightest. Dariush Mehrju'i ( fa, داریوش مهرجویی , born 8 December 1939, also spelled as ''Mehrjui'', ''Mehrjoui'', Mehrjooi, and ''Mehrjuyi'') is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, producer, editor and a member of the Iranian Academy of the Arts. Mehrjui was a founding member of the Iranian New Wave movement of the early 1970s. His second film, ''Gaav'', is considered to be the first film of this movement, which also included Masoud Kimiai and Nasser Taqvai.
