Mohamed Arif
Mohamed Arif (; 11 August 1985 – 25 June 2024), better known by his nickname Baka, was a Maldivian professional footballer who played as a midfielder for Myanmar National league club Kanbawza Football Club and the Maldives national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the Maldives, he was among the most successful players in the country. Arif began playing for Island FC at the age of 19 in 2004. During his international career, he was integral to the team's victories in the SAFF Championship, first in 2008 and again in 2018. Arif was awarded the Best Football Player of the Year in 2010. He also secured the title of Second Best Player for 2011 and Third Best Player for 2013. He received the nickname "Baka" from his former coach Mauroof Ahmed, who named him after a foreign midfielder who had previously played for Victory Sports Club. Hithadhoo (Addu)
Hithadhoo ( Dhivehi: ހިތަދޫ) is a district of Addu City, in the Maldives. Hithadhoo is the main administrative district of Addu City, with many of the administrative buildings in this district. The town is situated on the island of the same name, the westernmost of Addu Atoll (previously known as Seenu Atoll). In terms of population, Hithadhoo is home to the largest population in Addu City. 2018 SAFF Championship
The 2018 SAFF Championship, also known as the 2018 SAFF Suzuki Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 12th edition of the SAFF Championship, the biennial international men's association football, football championship of South Asia organized by South Asian Football Federation, SAFF. It was initially scheduled to be hosted by Bangladesh in December 2017, but later rescheduled to 4–15 September 2018. Host selection On 2 January 2016, the SAFF executive committee made a decision that Bangladesh would host the 2017 SAFF Championship at a meeting held in Trivandrum, India. Maldives and Bhutan made bids to host the games but the latter withdrew its bid. Raajje TV
Raajje TV is a television channel based in the Maldives, known for its news coverage, entertainment programs, and cultural content. The channel started broadcasting on 5 June 2008 as Future TV, adopting its current name in 2011. Arson Attack on Raajje TV On 7 October 2013, the channel's television station in Queen of the Night building in Malé was targeted in an arson attack. Dhiraagu () is the first Maldivian telecommunications company, which was founded in 1988. ''Mihaaru'' () is a Maldivian daily newspaper. The name ''Mihaaru'' translates to "Now". It is headquartered in Malé, Maldives. It is read by readers all over the country and is known to be a trusted source of information.
