A model is an informative representation of an object, person, or system. The term originally denoted the plans of a building in late 16th-century English, and derived via French and Italian ultimately from Latin , . José Capmany
José Capmany (15 July 1961 – 13 October 2001) was a Costa Rican songwriter and guitarist. Along with Enrique Ramírez, he was a founder of the band Café con Leche, a rock band in Costa Rica in the late 1980s. His latest release ''Canciones Cotidianas'' included a compilation of his work. Songs like "El Barco", "La Historia Salvaje" (which contains a sample of Gloria from Them but with more hard rock and in the lyrics the complete lyric from the popular children's song "Los Pollitos" combined with the chorus). Presidio Modelo
The Presidio Modelo was a "model prison" with panopticon design, built on the Isla de Pinos ("Isle of Pines"), now the Isla de la Juventud ("Isle of Youth"), in Cuba. It is located in the suburban quarter of Chacón, Nueva Gerona. History The prison was built under the President-turned-dictator Gerardo Machado between 1926 and 1931. The five circular blocks, with cells constructed in tiers around central observation posts, were built with the capacity to house up to 5,000 prisoners. The panopticon design allowed the guards to watch the prisoners constantly. La Modelo
La Modelo ( English: ''The Model rison') is a prison in Bogotá, Colombia. With 11,000 inmates, the facility is known for its violence. The prison's north wing accommodates left-wing rebels while the south wing has right-wing government supporters and paramilitaries. The area between these two wings is where many killings in the prison take place. Guards do not carry weapons in the prison, although the ones in the guard towers do control rifles. Prisoners from both sides have easy access to guns and even grenades. (FARC) continue to drill in their section of the prison. There are restaurants in the prison and one sponsored by FARC provides free food to left-wing rebels. On 27 April 2000, over 100 prisoners were murdered in fighting.
