According to Matt Mills of ''Metal Hammer'': " hsahnintentionally regressed to his earliest influences: NWOBHM licks, symphonic swells and black metal tremolo picking alongside his seething screams. From that foundation, he built all kinds of weird shit." Ihsahn himself described ''The Adversary'' as "all over the place, with me trying out other subgenres in metal that I didn’t really h ... AngL
Angeghtun () or Ingilene (; ) was a district of the ancient Kingdom of Armenia centered on the city and fortress of Anggh (, ), which gave its name to the district. Anggh is often identified with the modern city of Eğil in Turkey, and may have also been the site of Carcathiocerta, capital of the Kingdom of Sophene, and the settlement Ingalawa mentioned in Hittite records. Angeghtun bordered Andzit (Anzitene), possibly at the Taurus Mountains, to its west and Great Tsopk (Sophanene) to its east, possibly at the Western Tigris. While the district of Angeghtun was likely ruled by a branch of the Orontid dynasty that ruled the Kingdom of Sophene, Armenian sources describe the fortress of Anggh as a royal fortress of the kings of Armenia where the royal treasures were kept. The Grand Chamberlain of Armenia ( or ) was in charge of administering the fortress and the wealth within it. According to Cyril Toumanoff, Anggh was likely the central fortress of one of the four s of the Kingd ... Das Seelenbrechen
''Das Seelenbrechen'' is the fifth studio album by Norwegian black metal musician Ihsahn. Released on 21 October 2013, the album was described by Ihsahn as a "deliberate sidestep" that used improvisation as the basis for his most diverse recording to date, which ''Decibel'' described as "surprising and strangely satisfying". Background Ihsahn described ''Das Seelenbrechen'' as a "deliberate sidestep" from his previous solo albums, which was designed "to avoid falling into any kind of formula". He suggested that the album was influenced by the musical experimentation of Diamanda Galas and Scott Walker, for whom he admitted "I've always admired musicians that dive into it like that and express something right there and then without filter, or polishing it too much". Describing the album as intentionally "out of his comfort zone", it relied upon improvisation to create a "more spontaneous and intuitive" feeling. The result of this spontaneity was that he felt that he could expre ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
